We continue to discover the different murals painted during the last Under Pressure festival in Montreal. It was the 30th edition, making it the oldest StreetArt festival still active in North America. Today, we're in the main festival area with the buildings surrounding the concert halls, the Foufounes Électriques and the Metropolis (that's no longer its name, but I prefer the old one without advertising).

Nous continuons de découvrir les différents murs peints lors du dernier Under Pressure à Montréal. C'était la 30ème édition, ce qui en fait le plus vieux festival StreetArt encore en activité en Amérique du Nord. Aujourd'hui, nous sommes dans la zone principal du festival avec les batîments entourant les salles de spectacles, les Foufounes Électriques et le Metropolis (ce n'est plus son nom mais je préfère l'ancien sans publicité).

Plusieurs artistes ont participé à ce mur, chacun mettant son oeuvre sur ce mur de briques noirs. On peut voir Wolf et HER en dessous de UP 30.

This is the wall at the corner of Sainte-Catherine Street and Bullion Street in Montreal. Every year, Under Pressure displays the edition number on this wall, with a few artists done some works underneath. The two main walls reserved for different crews are located right next door on de Boisbriand street. You can see them in the photo below. That will be for a next post 😀.

Il s'agit du mur au coin de la rue Sainte-Catherine et de la rue de Bullion à Montréal. Chaque année, Under Pressure affiche sur ce mur le numéro de l'édition avec en dessous quelques artistes qui réalisent quelques oeuvres. Les deux murs principaux réservés à différents crews se trouvent juste à côté dans la rue de Boisbriand. On peut les apercevoir sur la photo ci-dessous. Cela sera pour un prochain post 😀.

Wolf

We will discover the different works on this wall as if we were walking towards Sainte-Catherine Street. The first artist featured is Wolf, often seen at the Mur Légal de Rouen, with this Dr. Manhattan and his phrase Humans, what an odd concept... However, I have no idea who created the letters UP 30 this year with this magnificent crowned skull. I searched for information on the festival's Instagram account without success 😤.

Nous allons découvrir les différentes oeuvres de ce mur comme si nous marchions vers la rue Sainte-Catherine. Le premier en action est Wolf, artiste souvent croisé au Mur Légal de Rouen, avec ce Dr.Manhattan et sa phrase Humans, what an odd concept... Par contre aucune idée qui a réalisé les lettres UP 30 cette année avec ce magnifique crane couronnée. J'ai cherché l'information sur le compte instagram du festival sans succès.

Wolf

HER

Next to it is HER with her instantly recognizable style, manga face with eyes outlined in white triangles. The cardboard Lego characters are by an artist. / FR : A coté il s'agit de HER avec son style si reconnaissable, visage manga avec les yeux soulignés d'un triangle blanc. Les personnages Lego faits en carton sont d'un artiste.

Mos & Syrup

In the middle, there is a door painted by Mos Geez, a Montreal-based artist with his own unique style. Next to it is another regular at the Mur Légal de Rouen, Syrup, aka Gabriel Lenfesty*, with a superb raven. He painted several this summer. With a pretty cart in front 😀 The neighborhood is home to several organizations that help homeless people. It's really difficult work, given that the situation has worsened in Montreal since COVID.

Au milieu, on a une porte peinte par Mos Geez, artiste basé à Montréal avec aussi son style unique. A côté, un autre habitué du Mur Légal de Rouen avec Syrup aka Gabriel Lenfesty avec un superbe corbeau. Il en a peint plusieurs cet été. Avec un joli chariot devant 😀 le quartier accueille plusieurs organismes qui viennent en aide aux personnes en itinérance. Vraiment un travail difficile vu que la situation s'est aggravée après la COVID sur Montréal.

Polographe & MrDupont

Here is another artist you should recognize by now, given how often I've shown you his work. I'm, of course, referring to Polographe, an artist and artistic director in the video game industry. It's always a pleasure to discover one of his new works.

Là aussi un autre artiste que vous devez reconnaitre depuis le temps que je vous montre ses oeuvres. Il s'agit évidemment du Polographe, artiste et directeur artistique dans le domaine des jeux videos. Toujours un plaisir de découvrir une de ses nouvelles oeuvres.

On the other hand, I don't know why punk is preserved year after year 🤔. I'll have to look into it. On the other hand, in a completely different style, we have Mr Dupont aka Yann Collet, who defines himself as a vandal painter and brigand worker 😀. He comes from France with his daughter (the fishbowl) to create this work, a beautiful father/daughter activity.

Par contre, je ne sais pas pourquoi année après année, le punk est sauvegardé 🤔. Je vais devoir me renseigner. A côté, dans un style complétement différent, on a Mr Dupont aka Yann Collet qui se définit comme peintre vandale et ouvrier brigand 😀. Il est venu de France avec sa fille (le bocal avec le poisson) pour réaliser cette oeuvre, belle activité père / fille.

Gambe

Above, there is lettering by Gambe, an artist from England whom I have just discovered. Sorry about the photo, the sun was right behind the wall. I was trying to avoid glare. Do you have a favorite work on this wall?

Au dessus, il s'agit d'un lettrage de Gambe, je découvre cet artiste provenant d'Angleterre. Désolé pour la photo, le soleil était juste derrière le mur. J'essayais d'éviter d'avoir les reflets. Avez-vous une oeuvre préférée sur ce mur ?**
