The night of Saturday October 8th of this year, that is, last Saturday, the sky became cloudy in such a way that it reminded more than one of the prayers, and just as more than one of us imagined it, the moment arrived when an intense rain appeared in several areas of the country, however we never imagined that this natural phenomenon brought with it a tragedy for a small town in the state of Aragua called Las Tejerias.
The rain began at about 5:30 in the afternoon, and after 7:30 at night the news began to appear on almost all social networks, for no one is a secret that in Venezuela the different media, called radio and television do not impart the reality of any of the news of the events in the country, Venezuelans learn about the reality of them through the different social networks that report the veracity of the facts, such as instagram, telegram, among others.
The news were increasingly desperate, I, for example, live 15 minutes away from Tejerias, in the municipality that is right next door, it is inevitable not to have at least one acquaintance there.
The flooding of the river ended with everything, mostly with houses, stores, locals, in most of these there were people inside them, there are many missing people, relatives worried about each of their children, cousins, brothers, mothers who are still missing; there are many people who were left without a house, without their things, they simply lost everything and yet they are grateful that they are alive, on the other hand, there are others who still have their house but not their family, the sadness of these is even worse.
The local media shared the euphoria that caused the departure of the president of the republic to the town of Tejerias, but the aforementioned man just walked through the central part, wearing an outfit that at first glance showed the amount of bulletproof vests that he was wearing, the bodyguards did not let him walk, and his cabinet the only thing he says is: "That in at least 2 years, everything will be fine. That in at least 2 years, everything will be as before (of course, something that only he believes).
Today thanks to #HIVE and its wonderful people hand in hand with @guiltyparties I went to Tejerias, to take those people a small donation, we bought sanitary napkins, toothpaste, deodorants, toilet paper, diapers, antibacterial soaps, with these inputs were made kits of personal hygiene products to deliver them to the most needy, in conjunction with that we donated used clothes, but in good condition to children, girls, women, men and babies.
It is unfortunate that being there you have to find out that all the supplies and resources that have arrived have not been distributed everywhere, that is why I went to one of the highest parts of Tejerias called "El Beisbol", where most of the victims and all the people who were left homeless and without family, that is about 4 or 5 km from the lower part of the town on a steep climb, where I had to go through the middle of the river that caused the tragedy.
It has been 3 days of not sleeping for the people who live there, electricity has not yet been restored in that area, they beg for a glass of cold water, the vital liquid does not reach them there, the gratitude of all those who are still there is something that they do with their hearts in their hands.
So many things are needed, medicines for both adults and children, diapers, supplies for personal use (shampoo, deodorant, soap, wet wipes, toilet paper), it is not easy what these people are going through.
Today that I was there, I can assure you that, ONE THING IS, TO SEE THE NEWS AND ANOTHER THING IS TO BE PHYSICALLY THERE AND LISTEN TO EVERY ONE OF THEIR ANECDOTES.
Thank you #Hive, thank you @guiltyparties, I want and hope to come back, they really need us.
