Earthquakes are the scariest thing nearest to typhoons which really leaves a mark not just in our memories but literally on our homes.
At 9:59 pm of September 30,2025, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit northern Cebu that left such devastating aftermath.
When the earthquake struck, we were still at Tuburan because it was a weekday and we spent it on our rented home in Tuburan. It left us in so much shock and it even doubled when the electricity went off.
Luckily, we were all safe in Tuburan and it did not left that much damage on our houses. I am so glad we were all safe.
On the morning of October 1,2025, Wednesday, we decided to go home to our hometown in Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu from Tuburan we traveled at around 7:30 am and hit the road for almost an hour before we will reach our hometown.
**On Our Way To Tabogon From Tuburan Via Tigbawan Tabuelan Road**

**TIGBAWAN-TABUELAN ROAD**
This is the road situation in almost all the roads in Tigbawan-Tabuelan Route going to Ilihan, Tabogon. The earthquake left the roads damaged and all piled up. It looks like being passed through or damaged by a back hoe. This is a common sight so as drivers, it is important to pay extra caution and always be careful.
It is important to be cautious especially when traveling at times like these were we have been struck by an earthquake.
While en route, we saw these damaged houses and it is really heart-breaking to see this scenario.
It struck me so much knowing that I may tend to complain when the temperature gets too hot because we lost electricity supply but these people lost not just their electricity but their houses.
It so painful to see people lose their hard-earned houses they have secured for their families and is lost by a blink of an eye.
People have lost their houses and Christmas is fast approaching. Everyone needs shelter and now they lost theirs. It is really heart-breaking.

This unfinished house it also set to pave it's way to being livable but the earthquake struck and it got damaged. I bet the owner has exerted so much effort and invested in paying for their house under construction.

While we are almost near the Ilihan Road, we saw the gigantic rocks falling at the roadside and these rocks are really deadly once fallen into human or vehicles passing by.

We finally reach our hometown here in **Purok Nangka, Caduawan, Tabogon, Northern Cebu, Philippines** and I am so happy to see that our house was not damaged, there are just few fragile things in the kitchen that fell.

We cleaned the broken glasses in our kitchen as it may cause some harm. We then went out to check our relatives and neighbors who have evacuated in our frontyard.

Our families have been traumatized by the earthquake and for following safety protocol, we did not go inside for safety purposes.
We are in desperate need of
• Rice
• Food
• Drinking Water
We have been struck by the earthquake too and it has left so many damages and left us all traumatized.

Despite the tragic earthquake, I still felt grateful knowing that all of my families and loved ones are safe. That alone is already a blessing.

From Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu we drove all the way to Bogo City to withdraw some cash. It js the nearest city and it is where we can get money from the bank.
From our hometown in Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu we can reach Bogo City by 15-20 minutes via motorcycle.
Bogo City in Northern Cebu is the mostly hit city and they have so much casualties that it indeed left such trauma and pain to everyone who experienced it.

**MCDONALD's BOGO CITY BRANCH**
Our favorite go-to fastfood change was damaged by the earthquake and it left a major destruction as Bogo City is the epicenter of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake.

**Good Bye, Jollibee Bogo Drive Thru Branch!**
Another fast food chain that bid good bye is Jollibee in Cogon, Highway. It was also damaged by the earthquake and it is so painful to see that we have built so many good memories here and it was destroyed by the earthquake.
**Other damaged establishments in Bogo City, Northern Cebu, Philippines**
In Tabogon and in Bogo City there is no electricity and no water at the moment, thus making it so much more difficult to work around and do household errands.

Not only is my hometown affected, but also my workplace at **Tuburan National High School, Tuburan,Cebu**
**SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING - TUBURAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - TUBURAN, CEBU, PHILIPPINES**

My heart breaks as I witness the aftermath of the earthquake on our school building. I am just grateful that the earthquake happened when we got home, it did not happened during school hours. It would cause even more and more trauma.
I am not sure what my classroom looks like as of the moment but I am hoping that our television that was stuck on our wall did not fell because it is so useful during class hours and we cannot afford to buy a new one incase it indeed is broken.
I am just grateful no one got hurt because things can be replaceable but life can never be.
We also stumbled upon the Vice President Of the Philippines VP Sara Duterte who visited Bogo City to check on the earthquake victims.

The people of northern Cebu greatly appreciated the presence of the Philippines' Vice President who quickly responded to the needs of the people.
The earthquake brought so much trauma and it has shake not only our houses but also out trouble minds.
Until now, October 2,2025 8:55pm, we are still experiencing aftershocks and we have no idea until when does this lasts.
We are praying for better days and make this earthquake scenario end soonest as we are already so traumatized.
