Last weekend, we had the chance to attend the wedding of my husband’s cousin, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. The whole family came together. Their relatives from Negros Occidental, Cebu, and us who traveled all the way from Agusan del Sur in Mindanao. It felt like a reunion that from different provinces just so we could all witness two hearts becoming one.
The motif was khaki, and it suited the simple yet elegant theme of the day. We bought our attires from a mix of online shops and ukay-ukay, which made it practical but still stylish enough for the occasion.
Our little daughter enjoyed wearing her outfit too, and it warmed my heart to see her laughing, playing, and enjoying every part of the celebration.
The wedding itself was described as simple, but it was filled with so much warmth and love.
The reception venue was cozy and beautifully decorated, creating an atmosphere that felt both festive and homey. The cake was very cute, simple in design but full of charm, perfectly matching the vibe of the wedding.
There were so many moments that made the day extra special. Families from both sides gave their full support, and I could feel how much everyone genuinely wished the newlyweds a lasting and happy marriage.
There was even a fun videoke time that brought out everyone’s laughter, and of course, endless photo opportunities. We had the chance to take pictures with the clan and even sat down for a few shots right in front of the reception venue—memories captured that we’ll surely treasure.
As I watched the couple exchange vows, I couldn’t help but think about my own marriage. I was reminded of the day we also stood before our loved ones, starting a journey of love, challenges, and togetherness. Just like them, we were carried by the strength of family and the quiet courage that comes from choosing each other every single day.
Theirs may have been a simple wedding, but it was overflowing with love, the kind of love that doesn’t need too much of pricey things and handaan just their union and family presence and support is enough.
