Hello my dear Hivers of the ASEANHIVE community. I hope you're all doing well.
Today I will be sharing to you how our school's ASEAN day celebration went. Every year, the Department of Education commemorates the existence and relevance of the relationship of the ASEAN nations.
We are excited in preparing for this event. Specially the children because they get to wear different national costumes from the countries which are member of the ASEAN nation.
You can see some of our pupils wearing beautiful national costumes. They may not be perfect but we saw and appreciate their efforts in making them look relevant to the event.
We, teachers have decided to wear our national costume for women, the Filipiniana.
I even dressed my preschooler daughter into a Filipiniana so she can also relate to the school activity we are celebrating. She loves her dress which I actually bought for her during the graduation ceremony from my previous school. It is kinda big for her so she can wear it even up until she becomes five years old. She is still four years old now.
Going back to the program, we have prepared our venue. We were really hands on in the preparation. One of my co-teachers is good at layouting so she was incharged in the preparation of the program. While the rest of us prepared the hall. We did table skirting, we also did skirting for the backdrop because our school head is really particular about the decoration. The set up was not as perfect and superb but we made sure it comes from our team effort and we did our best.
As part of the program we had a parade where children raised the flags of the countries they represent. Prior to the event, we already assigned countries for the different grade levels.
We went on with the program and as part of the program we had a film viewing about the history of the ASEAN, how it was formed, the pioneering countries who joined it and the common principles that was made the backbone of this relationships.
The children enjoyed it so much, we even asked them about what they understood from the video and we're glad that they have some inputs about it.
We also prepared an exhibit. Like a gallery of the different information about the members of the ASEAN nation. The exhibit shows the culture, economy, different landmarks and basically the beauty of the ASEAN nations. Though the students have not physically visited the places, they were immersed and looked amazed from the information and photos presented to them.
The ASEAN celebration is a simple celebration, it highlights how different cultures have the power to unite with the same goals and visions. Through respect for each other's culture and supporting one another, surely there is no country that will be left behind. Provided the nation have a true, honest, and dedicated leader who looks after for the good of his people.
All in all, our ASEAN celebration was made successful and we all enjoyed it.
