Spending Time with My Four Year Old Daughter Before I Go Back to Work and Things Become Busier Again

Hello, dear Hivers of @motherhood community! Hope you're all doing well and safe.

Before I return to work this August 11, I made sure to spend quality time with my daughter.

We spent a sunny day at the beach where she had the best time swimming in the water.

She also enjoyed swinging under the sky.

I also let her indulge over sweet treats like cotton candy and ice cream, just this time. She played in the sand, she even accidentally touched her eyes with her sandy hand she cried a little.

She asked me unicorn floater which I gladly gave in so she can have something she could remember from this trip.

The next day, we took her to the mall. Her eyes lit up when she saw the dinosaur ride and of course, she hopped on it with so much excitement.

While I played the photographer, capturing moments of her and her papa.

We strolled around until she saw a small luggage. I asked her why she wanted one and she said she saw peppa pig have it when she had a flight. She really loves peppa pig that much.

We ended that mall trip with a slice of pizza and her favorite pineapple juice.

On our way home, we stopped by a playground to extend the fun. She first sat on the swing and I watched in amusement how she quickly founnd a new friend.

I became her balance on the seesaw both literally and in the quiet way a mother always tries to be.

I took photos of her going down the slide. Moments like those I just want to keep them in my heart forever. And honestly, sometimes I forget to take pictures because I’m too focused on just being there with her, engulfed in every laugh, every little story she tells me in between play.

She keeps talking about the adventures we had, even asked when we’re going back. Hearing that makes me smile, because it means she felt something special, something warm and happy. And truly, there’s no greater joy as a parent than seeing your child that happy.

Now that she has a younger brother, I do notice moments when she feels a bit out of place. It’s why I try to make these one-on-one moments count. She will always be my baby the little bundle of joy who first made me a mother. Before duty calls and my time gets divided among responsibilities, I want her to remember how present I was, how much I love being around her, how I will always, always choose to make time.

When I return to work, I know the days will be busier for me being a teacher, a mother of two, a partner. But I will carry these memories with me, and I’ll keep making space for more. I’ll always do my best to make both my children feel the love and care they deserve.

That’s all for today, Hivers! Thank you for reading and for walking with me in this journey of motherhood.
