I made this account in January 2017. DAMN it has been a long time.
Blockchain has some such a long way from where it was when I left in 2019. It has been wild as fuck to re-integrate into crypto and see how many more things I can actually do this time around.
Back in 2017, all I could do was share non-crypto things via crypto playforms like Steem and LBRY. I remember when "SMT" was first announced, making layer 2 tokens possible, I barely understood the idea. It was all so new.
Nowadays it is completely different. On Hive alone I can play a bunch of different games, collect rare art NFTs, and discuss things in much more focused sub-communities all around the network. It feels much more viable for someone with my skillset to be able to contribute to blockchain ecosystems.
With the emergence of DAOs as the next chapter in blockchain, these already abundant opportunities will be growing exponentially.
Quixotic Flux
I've been blogging as @quixoticflux for the last six months.
For why I didn't come back on my main account, it is a really long story, I took a loan and used this account as collateral. One thing led to another and I did not pay back the loan on time, fast forward to 2021 and I finally paid it back. I don't really want to get into all the details, it was definitely my fault and all I can say is I am glad to have this account back.
It might have been a blessing in disguise to have to start over, I think a fresh slate allowed me to come back with a new vision for what I do.
How I Hope to Contribute to Hive
The truth is I don't really know the best way I can contribute to Hive but at least I am starting to figure it out.
I've already onboarded quite a few people onto Hive. Pretty much everybody in the FLUXCORP splinterlands guild is somebody who I personally onboarded onto Hive.
Going forward I decided that my core "contribution" goal for blockchain is to increase the daily active users of cryptocurrency/NFTs. All of my productivity-based decisions are downstream of this goal.
The Plan
There is no plan.
All I know is I will keep using the @quixoticflux account as my main account, where I will be a "tryhard" with creating content. I want that account to be a regular flow of play2earn and NFT art content focusing as much as possible on Hive-native projects.
This account can be my casual account for other subjects and extra rambles, I guess. It feels like a shame to not ever post here given how many followers I built up during my golden days from 2017-2019.
Then again I have no idea how many of my followers are active or if anybody even remembers me. I just know that I absolutely love and believe in Hive, and I'm really grateful that this place exists. When I wrote about leaving Steem, I had no idea it could be saved. Also, like I said, I had lost access to this account at that time, something I did not mention in the article.
IDK I just hope I can contribute something to this network and work to re-establish my reputation over time. With all that said, I'm back.
