One of the things that I really like about Bangkok is how nice their parks are. I guess because the city is so noisy and busy that there's a big need for a place where there's just trees and peace and fountains. I have been to [Lumphini Park](https://peakd.com/hive-163772/@hiddenblade/lumphini-park-a-big-park-in-the-middle-of-bangkok) last year and I really enjoyed it.
This time, I went to a park just 2 BTS stations away from the hotel we were staying at. It's called "Benchakitti park", sometimes spelled as "Benjakitti" and apparently this park is to honor Queen Sirikit. It's located close to Asoke BTS station in Sukhumvit.
Like most parks, this was free of charge. Looking at Google maps, this park is really huge. I came in from the entrance near the Asoke BTS station, so this was what I saw. I just turned left and went on my way. Today I just realized that there is another park specifically the forest park if you just walk straight from here. But even so, I wouldn't be able to have enough time before sunset since I went here at 5-ish pm.
From the entrance, you can already see how big this park is. I appreciate the wide space and the big lake in the middle instead of just spamming you with trees immediately.
As I walked along, I saw this mini amphitheater. Such a nice place to have mini events/meetups and stuff.

This park is so pretty tho like damn. I think this is the prettiest park I've been to, next is Chatuchak Park. The buildings just turn gold when the sunset hits and it just looks incredible.

Such a nice place to read a book at. I don't know about mosquitos tho.

The building on the right is a big convention center which is also inside the park.
I realized the sunset here will be nice because of the wide area without any trees and the water just gives a nice reflection. So there's no buildings or anything that blocks your view from that nice sunset. :D
How romantic to be here with that view. :D

Must be nice to be here and have picnic after school/work. Even if there are monitor lizards randomly ascending from the water they wouldn't hurt you or anything so it's fine. XD
There's also a dog park at the right side from the entrance of the park.
I was expecting to have like a dog playground with obstacles but they were just plants and a tiny lake inside. It was a bit weird but I don't know maybe I just didn't walk further to find out more.
This park was really worth the visit and I can see myself visiting again if I had the chance to. You saw those pictures and how gorgeous the sunset was and it was the best sunset in Bangkok I've seen so far. Now I'm curious to see how it looks like being at a rooftop of 80 story building but that is an experience for the next time we go back in Bangkok. Benchakitti park is definitely the prettiest park I've been to so far.

Around the lake is one big oval, perfect for running, walking, and biking.

There is also another pathway that leads to a mini forest I guess we can call that (since there is a big forest park beside it lol).

I think this was supposed to be a skate area but I'm not sure why it's not being used. It looks like they removed those things on the ramp on purpose so nobody would use it lol.

Man, there's always water monitor in parks in Bangkok lol. I didn't see one here tho.
