Shot with Fuji X-T4, 50mm f/1.0
I wanted a makeup look that is simple but not 'too simple' that it won't show up on camera since I also wanted to record a gameplay after. When it comes to eyeshadows, I have different colors to choose from since I have collected a few palettes with different colors. I really like purple on my face and I find that it compliments my skin tone so I went with it.
 I used this eyeshadow palette from a Chinese beauty brand [Narimi](https://cbeautymall.com/collections/narimi). The palette is called [Dead Wood](https://cbeautymall.com/collections/narimi/products/narimi-back-to-the-90s-eyeshadow-palette-05-withered-wood-brown) and it has a really gorgeous color selection that matches the name of the palette well. I have a lot of ideas using this palette and this is one of them.
 This purple and green combination really gives a unique look but not something that's overwhelming. Color theory is really fun to learn. There are still a lot of things about colors that surprise me lol.
 I'm using my 50mm f/1 lens for this shoot. I normally use my 80mm macro lens so I don't have to change lenses when I'm shooting close up eyes shot and also cos the lens filters are only compatible with that. Comparing my portrait shots using 50mm and 80mm, I can clearly see the difference - hence, some prefer to use 50mm 'portrait' lens than other focal lengths. Using 50mm makes my face slimmer somehow, maybe the most accurate if we compare it to real life (or what I see in the mirror at least lol).
 An out-of-focus shot makes the shimmers stand out and show up more.
