Looking at Asian beauty brands and how they apply them, I came across this type of puff they use to apply concealers and foundations. I've always been on the lookout on how to apply foundations better ever since I learned how to do makeup because they are one of the most important thing to do nicely if you want the makeup to look good.
If you have seen Korean foundation brands, they usually apply their makeup using cushions and they are always seamless. Not only because their foundation formula is good and watery, but their cushions and application techniques are usually pretty nice.
 I found out about this Chinese beauty brand called Amortals and ordered a few of their puffs. I got them from a Chinese marketplace called Taobao although there are a few ones on more popular marketplaces like Shopee as well. This pack cost $3.23 and it includes 2 puffs and one puff container.
 So what's special about it? These puffs have a softer surface compared to a normal beauty sponge. They have smaller pores in them which means it barely absorbs any product which is what you'd want. It has layers of foam inside that prevents the liquid product to go through and at the same time makes it puffy. You can also see the shape to have these "sharp" edges to apply the products better.
 For comparison, this is what a beauty sponge looks like. The brand is Real Techniques and although I love their brushes, I haven't tried this one first because it really annoys me so much to have a lot of steps before and after using it. Cons of beauty sponge: * You have to wet it first and let it absorb water so the sponge becomes bigger. A dry sponge will absorb all the liquid products you will use so this is necessary. * Even used wet, it still absorbs products which is a waste cos they go there instead of your face. * Sometimes it can get patchy * Not as easy to apply especially in the eye areas * Really hard to clean
I have also tried using silicon applicators, brushes, and my fingers to apply foundation but they leave a mark on the skin which sometimes can be hard to fix depending on how creamy the foundation or concealer is.
 This is from a different brand called Art3m1s and they are very similar in material with the Amortals brand. It fits your finger and it's so cute haha. It's so useful especially when using concealer where you have to use it under the eyes. It's my current favorite tbh cos it's so easy to use and easy to clean as well.
 I would usually wet the puff with a primer/fixing spray first before using it. I think using it dry should be fine as well although I haven't tried it yet since I am used to using my spray first. As you can see, it blends so seamlessly and it doesn't show up any patches or sponge marks at all.
 On the left, you'll see that it barely absorbed the products since it was able to distribute it nicely on the face. The right photo shows the concealer application which I applied only on some areas and it wasn't obvious at all cos it blended so well.
 These are also for powders although I haven't used them yet. :D Like the others, they have sharp corners for a more precise application.
