Hi hi everyone! look who we have here? It's hiddenshadows again and it's such an honour to participate in Splinterlands Art Contest Week 362. Judging from the looks of things, participants seem to have greatly reduced over the weeks, or maybe it's just my statistics because I barely come across numerous entries like before. It's fine all the same, I am making an entry today because it's been quite some time now and I felt the need to participate in this one. Vampiric Blossom is an incredible alien-like plant that grows somewhere in the middle of an evil forest and a secret passage to the underworld.
History has it that a single drop of vampiric blossom extract could bring any lifeless being back to life, it nurtures and heals any form of wounds, disease or sickness very fast but the journey to picking this plant is like a death end and so people get scared even by the mere thought of entering the evil forest to get this plant to save their loved ones because of the thin line between life and death.
Lol, I could make such a wonderful story out of this plant, but please don't get it twisted and don't think that this is the actual story behind vampiric blossom, I only put my own thoughts and imaginations into play and brought life with my work of art. You will learn more about this card by logging into the Splinterlands website and reading through the card description. This very one I shared is just a work of my thoughts and imagination and I think I like the idea and would share some other time.
I've shared my steps and how I painted my work with you.

# My Steps
For the vampiric blossom card, I first made sketches using the original card as my reference

___
I went further to highlight the parts
with the highlights on the original card, and painted the base colours using coloured pencils though some of them appeared quite faint but I wasn't really bothered since I was going to darken it much later

___
I finished the base colouring in this step, from the leaves to the trunk to the fangs and other necessary part that needed base colouring

___
From this steps to the very end, I already completed my colouring and painting process. It took a while to finish it cause with this steps I had to be extra careful not to mess things up because unlike pencil colours that can be erased to an extent or degree, markers can't be erased so any mistakes will be noticeable and unerasable.
I carefully highlighted parts of the edges with blue colour then I painted the leaves, the rope that surrounds the trunk.

___
The most interesting part to paint for me was the fangs, where you have the sharp piercing teeth. Mixing and working over the colour to imitate the original card was worth it, I took my time and it paid off quite well.
The darker portions and the lighter portions of that mouth region came out just fine and I liked it.

I took different angle shots for the final result. I wanted to be sure the natural light wasn't reflecting on my sketchbook since I had to get a clearer and much cleaner view and capture.
So this ended up giving me plenty final outlook that I couldn't discard so I just decided to share everything since there are no rules to how many steps or photos to share.

I believe this last one is much brighter and the contrast, as well as saturation is just perfect. I left it as the last result for this purpose, to anyone that prefers the last result and not being patient enough to load the thumbnail image

It's such a good thing to participate in this week's contest, I've been procrastinating for a while now so you don't just know how excited I am about this one
I am really anticipating the reviews from this piece cause I hope everyone or a good number of people likes my entry. Thank you for stopping by my post today and I really hope to see you next time and not just my contest posts but my daily blog post, I look forward to connecting with you as well, take care everyone!.
