A magical walk in the Asri Forest near Ifrane

Hello my friends in the Hive community!

I hope you're well and that spring is doing you good where you are. Today, I'm taking you with me to a little corner of paradise that I was lucky enough to discover on a walk that really rejuvenated me: the Asri Forest, located just north of the town of Ifrane, a stone's throw from the famous Ain-Vittel park.

As soon as I entered the forest, I felt a peaceful, fresh atmosphere. The place is simply magnificent, with its tall trees, natural paths and small waterfalls that make you want to stop and listen to the water flow. It's like stepping into a calm world, far from the noise and stress of the city.

The Asri Forest is one of the protected natural areas in the Middle Atlas region. It is renowned for its rich biodiversity. It is also crossed by several small streams that feed the famous Ain-Vittel spring. And that's not all: this forest is also the setting for horseback rides that are a dream for young and old alike.

I began my walk quietly, on a tree-lined path. As I went along, I heard the sound of water. And then, at the bend in the path, I discovered some pretty little waterfalls, simple but so soothing. The water is clear, sometimes transparent, and flows between the roots of the trees, creating lovely little natural waterfalls. It's not the height of the waterfalls that impresses here, but their wild and discreet beauty.

I also stopped for a moment by a small natural pool where two small turtles were sunbathing peacefully. It was such a sweet moment that I felt like sitting down and not moving.

One of the things I loved about this ride was the atmosphere around the horse rides. All along the way, you'll come across families, children and lovers riding, often accompanied by very friendly guides. The horses are well-decorated, calm and seem to be used to this gentle, pleasant routine. What particularly struck me was that even though I hadn't ridden myself, just seeing the happy people around me made me feel good. One lady I met told me that it was ‘her favourite place to reconnect with nature’. And frankly, I understand her.

What I liked about this walk was that I really took my time. No rush, no precise plan. Just walking, looking around, listening to the birdsong, smelling the wet grass... I even bumped into a few people having a picnic on the grass. The atmosphere was simple, family-like and relaxed.

The Asri forest is a perfect place to clear your head and breathe fresh air. I returned home with my legs a little tired, but with a light spirit.

That, my friends, was my little jaunt to the Asri Forest, a place I'd recommend to anyone in need of a breath of fresh air and a moment of calm. If you're ever in Ifrane, I'd definitely recommend a trip there. And if you like horses, you'll be even more delighted!

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed my photos!

See you soon for a new post!
