Today I tried to find another little adventure where I can get to from my front door as the lockdown advice is not to drive to your daily exercise. I am blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world bonny Scotland 🏴 it won't be that hard to find one.
I start off by cycling alongside the Caledonian canal. After that I join the main road that runs alongside Loch Ness where in the lockdown it is so unbelievably quiet and empty with no cars, busses, tourist and not even the famous Loch Ness monster around.
I need to leave the main road and start climbing up a steep hill towards Abriachan.
It's time to leave the asfalt lane and go off road on even steeper track.
The trees are getting more tundra like small and the vegetation changes as I gain height.
I found a small bothy shelter for all those who get caught up in unforgiving weather conditions or simply needing rest when hiking The Great Glen Way trail.
The steep trail continues untill I find a sign directing me to the summit of Carn na Leitire 434...last push...my famous two words that I seem to be repeating a lot to myself.
Finally I reached the summit conquering myself against the gravity short of breath and excited to get to the top. The feeling that always makes me the happiest person in the world just the mighty nature and insignificant me.
It's going to be fun going doon this hill. Thank you for reading.
