Hello, friends, travelers, and community members. We had a long layover at Munich Airport during our journey from Norway to India. This time, we wanted to experience Oman Airlines, and our connection to further destinations was from Munich. The layover lasted 7 hours, and the terminals were separated into Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
At the inquiry desk, the staff member informed us that if we had time, we could walk through the Christmas market in the open area connecting Terminal A to Terminal B. We had plenty of time so naturally we decided to explore the Christmas market located just outside the entrance of both the terminals.
The market was massive, filled with numerous stalls and shops showcasing various Christmas items for sale. People were enjoying their layover time, and many locals were also visiting with their families.
The market starts just outside the exit.
Some people were on the ice skating rink located in the center of the market.
Food stalls
Beer lovers enjoying their beer.
beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.
doormats
Nice wooden utensils.
Chimney cakes
we entered terminal 1 to locate our gate for our flight The building was so confusing and lacked information so we walked and walked there was no place to sit and relax. but they have a wonderful face-to-face computer info system so we got in contact with a very helpful assistant who told us exactly where to go. if we had known about that system earlier we would have had no confusion.
A golden statue of King Ludwig 2 was placed in the entrace of the terminal but there was not much else inside the terminal to take photos of.
So we went back out to the market in another direction where the huge Christmas tree was beautifully decorated with plenty of ornaments.
A pair of angel's wings seemed to be missing a body so many people tried fitting between them to become an angel, at least for a moment. I tried myself also.

we were not looking forward to the long layover in Munich and wondered how to spend 7 hours but the unexpected Christmas market made the time pass very pleasantly and we enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit.
Thank you for stopping by.
