Hello, friends, food lovers, and community greetings! hope you all are doing well and having a good time with your loved ones First time in my life, I tried tofu in Indo-Chinese style.
Ingredients:
300-gram firm tofu 3 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp vinegar 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp Chinese spice mix 1 tbsp chili sauce 1 tbsp miso 1 tbsp ginger garlic crushed 1 tbsp jaggery 1 tbsp tomato puree 1 tsp red colored chili powder Kashmiri chili powder 1/2 red paprika 1 small green paprika 2 spring onions 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 cm chopped garlic 1 cm chopped ginger Salt and pepper 1 tsp each Step 1
Make spice mix 1 tbsp fennel seeds 3 cm cinnamon 3 star anise 10-12 cloves 25 black peppercorns Mix all whole spices in a mixer or coffee grinder and make a powder. Keep aside. Step 2
Drain the water from the tofu package and wipe the extra water using kitchen paper. Make appropriate slices according to choice. Sprinkle some salt and corn starch on it. Use sesame oil and shallow fry on medium heat.
When crispy outside, remove from the skillet and keep aside. Step 3
make rice Wash 1/2 cup of rice, add 1 tsp miso and 1.5 cups of water. mix well and cook until the rice becomes soft. Better to use sticky rice with this recipe. Step 4 Prepare sauce
Mix all ingredients one by one in the bowl. chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic, tomato puree, jaggery. Stir well and keep aside.

Use the same skillet warm the remaining oil and add chili powder. Keep the heat low to avoid smoking/burning. stir until the chili releases red color in the oil. Add spring onion, ginger garlic slices. stir well. Add green paprika and red paprika, stir well.
Add salt and pepper, stir well Blend the spice mix in the prepared sauce, stir in some water.
Add the sauce to the spring onion and paprika mixture. stir well.
Mix water and cornstarch into a slurry. Add to the mixture in the skillet. Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring well.
Add fried tofu slices to the mixture. Stir very lightly just to get the tofu coated with the sauce.
Enjoy with rice or noodles.
