Hello, friends and community, especially to our community leader @tatoodjay! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying quality time with your loved ones.
Today, we went for a walk, primarily a mushroom hunt, to our regular forest, which is about 5-6 kilometers from our home.
It was a beautiful, sunny autumn day, with the low sun in the sky brightly shining, although the atmosphere was quite cold.
After parking the car, we started our walk toward the main part of the forest. It began stunningly, and I felt optimistic about finding a good amount of mushrooms. Some of our friends were talking about the late but plentiful mushrooms in the forest.

We don't have so many maple trees around, so it is not as bright and colorful as the US. but this is what we have.
we were walking and looking for mushrooms. There were many, but not edible. and still, the main part of the forest is more to be explored.
Some areas are still nice and green.
Here we enter the main forest where we often get edible mushrooms.

As we looked at all those trees, we were shocked. The impact of Hurricane Amy caused damage throughout the forest. Many large trees are broken or uprooted.

After seeing the devastated beauty of our forest, we felt very sad. I took some photos, but my husband wasn't interested in capturing this disaster, he was too emotional. We tried to find the path further to see if any areas remained unaffected, but we found no paths to continue, so we turned back with a sad feeling. We don't know how long it will take for the forest to recover from this devastation. We have some wonderful photos from our previous mushroom hunts in that beautiful forest, but now those memories are all we have left. This experience is just one of many places. We were walking in many different places and enjoying nature. Now we are hoping that they haven't affected so badly as this area has.
Thank you very much
