Hello, greetings to the community and friends! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the autumn weather, or spring if you're in the southern hemisphere.

Today's post is about Halle Mølle, an old flour mill that once operated, producing its own power. Though it has been inactive for a long time, the setup is still intact, and many Norwegians enjoy visiting the site to explore the abundant nature surrounding it. We often take walks there, as it's not far from our home. I particularly enjoy walking around in the summer.

I've been thinking about writing this post for a long time, and I think today is the perfect day to share it since it’s rainy, cold, and cloudy outside. It was one sunny day at the end of July, when we were there.

$1 We went first to the west side, to Lake Halle the source of the water that powered the mill.

$1 People enjoy boating on the lake in the summer.

$1 Also, this place is very popular for swimming.

$1 the muddy area by the dam has nice water lilies but there is a deeper channel to the dam where the creek starts. water flows from the dam at the lake to another dam nearby, where the mill stands

$1 The lake dam is smaller and made of cement and wood, with only a couple of meters of fall from top to bottom, where the creek starts

$1

$1 we can climb using the metal ladder and walk on the dam.

$1 the water flow is small and runs under the bridge on the main road.

$1

$1 After crossing the bridge, we can follow the path. visitors are forbidden to drive their vehicles, but can walk or bicycle.

$1 After a few meters of walking, we can see this granite memorial for an American plane that crashed here in 1945.

$1 A water wheel still remains and is sometimes in use for demonstration purposes. this was not for the mill but for a grinding stone to sharpen tools

$1

$1 This pipe channeled water from the creek into the mill with a much more powerful flow to run the mill

This is the building housing the flour mill. the pipe is still there as are all the machines, equipment, and tools inside the building, which is now a local history museum that I will post about later. the old saw mill has been totally demolished, but much of the equipment is inside the museum.

$1 Here, local volunteers take care of buildings and visitors to guide them during arrangements and cultural history events One of these houses is a museum of the residence with all the complete rooms in tact with a kitchen, living room, bedrooms etc

$1

$1 Though the mill has been closed for years, the creek is still utilized for hydroelectric power with a turbine in this small house $1

$1 a small footbridge goes over the water and connects other properties.

$1 the creek continues to the sea. trout swim up it to spawn

$1 There are many different wildflowers and wild raspberries we can pick in the season. So I did. It was a nice summer walk. Thank you.
