Hello, friends, travelers, and community greetings! Hope all of you are doing well and having a good time with your loved ones. Today's post is from a short walk when we were in New Hampshire, the autumn was in its ending phase, but we were lucky enough to get some nice fall. Although the weather forecast was not very good, but we had some sunny days. One day, we had some errands to do in town, so we drove from the mountain to town. My husband was busy with his things. It wasn't interesting for me instead of sitting there, I went for a short walk around there. The town was still a long distance. we were on the Pond Road side, where very few houses. It was close to the Campton Pond Dam, a quite short walk. It is an attraction, with some history, and it is true; it is an attraction. I have been there before, and it was a very pleasant sight. Walking around the dam, I noticed a few things, but mostly asked James for more information after I got home.
The dam is 20 feet in height and produces hydroelectric power for American Forest. It is an old structure made of concrete. The pond was used for water sports in previous days. It has some historical background, also, which I heard from my brothers-in-law. but this is my walk, not a history lesson. I am just experiencing the beauty of nature and beautiful old architecture made by humans.
About the dam, definitely, it is a beautiful structure.
When asked a question to James about the water of the waterfall's condition in winter, he said, the water gets ice-cold and gets an icy film on it, but it doesn't freeze.
It is lovely to see this dam when the autumn colors are brighter,
A bridge connects to Routes 175 and 49, a kind of junction. I didn't cross the bridge. After taking a few photos, I moved further, but it is an unknown area for me, so I just kept walking around using the main road.

I walked a little bit so that I could see some mountains. from there, and at one point, I got a good view of the mountains.

I couldn't see people around there, a couple walking with a dog, and one lady was running on the road. Only a few cars were driving. At long distances, one house here, one there. It was strange. It was me walking in nature, but on the main road.
It is amazing, nature, mountains, water, peaceful area. etc., but a person like me can't live in these kinds of quiet places. I was thinking about how people can believe places like this in the US, and locals live and love those places. Maybe that is the reason the New Hampshire state motto is Live Free or Die. With this thought, I returned back to that place where I started.

My husband finished his work, and we were back on the uphill driving to get home. This is my short walk. Thank you very much for stopping by. Take care, see you soon.
