EDITORIAL

HiQ №33 is done and even though we always feel smart, stylish and sexy, we must have aged thirty-three years in the last 3 weeks. We will still be aging at least 33 years more. LOOL

Even though we have the longest, our to-do is currently even longer. But of course, what doesn't break us down will only make us stronger. By the way, who is also a strong personality is our "Most Valued Poster". (Editor's note: You can find more information on the insert aka in the MVP article below.)

Our grind is due in part to the fact that we went on a gigantic RL CraftInk binge. Rumour has it that this was a major inspiration for the next chapter of CraftInk lore from @smooms. Will this chapter be repeated in the next RL CraftInk match?

Who would have thought that we are more and more about RL. We want to produce another RL edition of HiQ for the HiveFest. Whether we will also age by 33 years, you can only read in this issue. (Spoiler: We will age at least 69 years).

Of course, cellar-like activities should not be missing in this issue. Therefore, we dedicated ourselves to the latest overcore game "Mole Miner". To become game-ready, even @quekery has aged 33 years. To spare you risks and side effects, there is a stylish guide in this issue.

And for the football or soccer fans among you, we'll also chat out of the GLS box. Should you fomo in GLS packs or rather join soccer sweepstakes like Kicktipp or Hivebuzz to have even more assets to fomo even more in packs? We are not giving investment advice here, of course. (Editor's note: Logically, you should also fomo in CraftInk packs. LOOL)

Of course, we know many more ways for you to save money and buy more INKCEO. Hive Thrifted is the opportunity for you to clear out your DACH floor and get new HIVE. Of course, you could also use these HIVE to treat yourself (Editor's note: or us [LOOL]) to a HiveFest appearance....

... or you could invest in new grow equipment and make a post in the Weedcash community. (Editor's note: To have more money for us. LOOL) What it's all about, you'll find out for sure somewhere in this issue. (Editor's note: Wynaut!) Even though we have the longest... Even if we have the longest package insert aka post of the Chain, we don't guarantee for your health or your police record. Also, we advise you not to post upgrades of these at Weedcash. LOOL

And to make our complete disintegration even more disintegrating, we have another bulging issue of "Hivestyle for Hivians" for you. Also included, of course, are Gossip and the letters to the editor, even if these are more within the holy trinity. And 3 is a nice number, after all. (Editor's note: But 33 is twice as good. LOOL) Spontaneously, we would even think of 3 reasons to be in the ...

... Commentary Discount Sale 2/4. With a discount of 30% on the current HIVE price of HIQS (Editor's note: 0.357 SWAP.HIVE). That means you can buy up to 270 HIQS for the price of 0.25 SWAP.HIVE per HIQS. Write the following

´´´!HIQS HereYourDesiredAmount´´´

in the comments. After 2 days, we will publish a post at @hiq.shares handling the sale. By the way, if the demand is high enough, we will increase the amount of HIQS to 540 HIQS, so that English-speaking and German-speaking readers can get their HIQS. We've done that before from time to time, but hardly anyone noticed. LOOL

➀ HiQs MVP

This month's cover girl is up for any snapshot and she sees the world not only through her own eyes. You can only find out who we're talking about here.

@melinda010100 has been Hivian since day 1 and her blog is all about photography. Perhaps all of you who follow photography communities on Hive have already seen one or two of her posts. But that's not all. Our Paparazi Hivian from Wisconsin, is not just in the photography world.

Even though this is also about photography - she is also a Shadow Hunter. Because everyone knows that where there is light, there is also shadow. According to her profile description ("Shadow Hunters and Feathered Friends"), she also has a heart for feathered friends, which of course makes us crazy birds from the HiQ happy - surely she has a heart for us too.

At the Ecency Meetups on the Ecency Discord Server, powered and moderated by @tengolotodo, she is always at the forefront as a moderator and performs her role as an Ecency Team Member excellently (Editor's note: THE community supporter of hearts.) - a Swiss Pocket Hivian, so to speak.

We at HiQ - The Hivestyle Magazine wish her all the best and continued success on the blockchain we all love so much. ★

➁ THE Column

Everything has an end. The last physical HiQ issue has two. Today @smooms shows you his journey to HiQ - the road was long and rocky, but read for yourself.

Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody told you it was a happy tale, if somebody said I was just your average guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied. But let me assure you, this, like any other story worth telling, is all about a Blockchain. The Blockchain next door. Steem. The Blockchain I already posted on since before I even liked Blockchains.

Back then, one of my friends from the early past got me onto the Steem Blockchain. There he taught me everything he knew. However, he was not a programmer like me. So at first, the technical aspect of Steem remained hidden from me. But in the days of vote-buying bots, I realised how easy it was to write programmes for the blockchain. I started programming a giveaway bot in JavaScript to raise my profile on Steem.

But as my mentor said to me back then: With great stake comes great responsibility!

For it came as it had to come. My posts were flagged for votefarming by whales who earned their big stake through the very techniques they were now demonising. No matter. There's nothing you can do about it. I'm just the friendly @smooms from the neighbourhood and have to see what I do and limit the damage.

Next chapter - I have to find something new to earn a living on Steem. Then came dLive. A German community guy from dLive quickly attached himself to me and I got really good upvotes. This led me into the DACH community and onto their Discord, where I met all sorts of weird characters. One of these characters was @quekery, one of the co-founders of STEEMillu at the time. However, I didn't know at the time that STEEMillu would change my life forever.

I am very good at editing pictures and it was exactly this skill that @quekery was looking for for the STEEMillu. However, I declined and another year went by. However, I continued to do my thing, continued to programme bots that were supposed to make my life easier in some Steem-supported games.

But this paradise also came to an end at some point. I don't want to go into it too much, but then @alucian came along. He brought the STEEMillu team together in such a way that it worked. I joined the core team as a "designer" and a glorious time of magazine publications began.

But these times were also about to change. A dubious Chinese, whom we affectionately call the "Steemy" or "Custom Justin", threatened to turn the once decentralised playground called Steem into a place of oppression and censorship. We reported on this once. But resourceful Steemians got together to take what was good about Steem and build a much better blockchain on top of it. This blockchain was given the name "Hive".

Running a magazine on the Hive Blockchain called STEEMillu didn't feel right to us (Note from @mary-me: LOOL) and so we looked for an alternative. It was clear that something new and cool was needed. Something stylish. So I dug out all kinds of lifestyle magazines that were available in real life, and "fresher, superior, odder" became "smart, stylish and sexy". STEEMillu became HiQ.

Here we are - 33 issues later. Almost since the beginning of HiQ, @mary-me has also been involved as a German editor. We have presented at two HiveFests (a third is planned) and produced a special physical edition of HiQ for HiveFest. What comes next from now on is uncertain, but....

... whatever lies ahead for me on the blockchain, I will never forget these words, "With great stake comes great responsibility!" This is my gift, my Hivestyle Magazine! Who am I? I am @smooms! ★

➂ COVER STORY

The next chapter in the story of the World Championship Tournament is about to begin. In this issue only, we will provide you with the eagerly awaited sequel. You can read what happens next here.

What has happened so far:

The challenge to @blue.rabbit was issued. A single round was to decide who would emerge victorious. Both players took their positions and the initial round of dice decided who should start. As @bubblegif won this, she decided that @blue.rabbit should start and the game began. Who will emerge as the winner of this game? The blue rabbit with the distinctive Swiss dialect? Or will it be the smart Austrian with the heart of ink on her side? We find out all this in...

Chapter 3:

@blue.rabbit studied the 5 cards of his starting hand for a long time. Too long for @bubblegif's taste. "Well, what's the matter? Don't you know your cards or what?" She laughed in his direction. @blue.rabbit ignored her comment. He threw 2 Fillinks from his hand into the archive and played a character. It was the E-Girl. Actually, this play would have cost him 3 Fillink, but since to all appearances he only had yellow Fillink in his deck, this summon was cheaper by one Fillink. A powerful card. "Then I'll play one more card face down", he said after making another Fillink card disappear into the Archive. His hand was thus empty. "Your turn, odr?"

@bubblegif drew a card, which can be an extreme advantage if you don't start first. The card she drew was mary-me. Having the Officer in your hand right in the first round is lucky. In many games, the rounds were so short that an Officer wasn't even drawn. She could have played it already. She had 3 white Fillink in her hand, mary-me, a Hive Whale and a HiQalibur. She decided to play the Hive Whale. She kept the other cards in her hand. A defensive tactic. If she had played HiQalibur face down, she would have had too little Fillink the turn after to be able to play the Officer. Clever. She finished her turn and @blue.rabbit was back on.

He drew a card from his deck. It was not a Fillink and because he had no Fillink in his hand after the Draw Phase, he was allowed to take a Fillink card from his Archive. "Let's see about getting more hand cards then, odr?" he said with a grin on his face. He immediately threw the Fillink card he had just retrieved from the Archive back into the Archive and played a card face up. It was the Juiceoid. "With this card, I am allowed to draw two cards from my deck, odr?" He drew two more cards and the Juiceoid ended up in the Archive as well.

He seemed satisfied, for his grin grew wider. He threw another Fillink card into the Archive and played another character. This time it was the Crypto Hacker, which with its 1 Fillink cost and 2 dice in attack, was a very strong card. "Time for an attack, odr? I attack your Hive Whale with my E-Girl." 2 dice against one dice. That was a tough one to win.

Both rolled the dice. @blue.rabbit rolled a 5 and a 2. There was no way @bubblegif could beat that number with just one die. Nevertheless, she rolled the die. It landed on 6. "That makes the Hive Whale history, odr," @blue.rabbit blurted out with excitement. @bubblegif was visibly unimpressed, as the round had only just begun.

On a huge monitor, not far from the battle between @bubblegif and @blue.rabbit, the CIBS News was now being broadcast. The news anchor had long hair and magnificent eyebrows. With a soft voice he began the moderation.

"Welcome to CIBS News. Reports of a shadowy figure in Inkopolis are mounting. According to witnesses, a black hooded figure is challenging tournament players all over Inkopolis and playing them into the ground. Many of these players seem to have disappeared without a trace afterwards. The IPD cannot and will not yet confirm whether the disappearance of the tournament participants is connected to the mysterious hooded figure. The IPD is asking for information about the mysterious person. So if you are challenged by a mysterious hooded person, report immediately to a police officer of the IPD, who are now increasingly on patrol in Inkopolis. We at CIBS think it's a shame that such a magnificent event as the CraftInk World Championship Tournament is being shown in the wrong light by something like this. I am @solymi from CIBS News and I pass on to my colleagues with the weather...

The weather in Inkopolis continues to be mild throughout the day and no rain is expected. Tomorrow morning..."

The game between @bubblegif and @blue.rabbit was even. Both gave each other nothing and the score was now 14 to 14. The next point would decide the winner. On the side of @blue.rabbit was only the CEO "prinzvalium". It was @bubblegif's turn. But her side of the field was empty. She still had mary-me in her hand and 2 fillinks of the same colour. If she didn't draw anything clever in the next round, she would lose. She drew a card from her deck. She drew a React card, which she placed directly on the field, ending her turn. @blue.rabbit laughed in her face. "You can't defend yourself without a character, can you?" he tried to tease her and draw her out. But @bubblegif remained as nonchalant as ever. @blue.rabbit drew a card. Apparently it was a Fillink, because it was the only card he now had in his hand. He now began his Battle Phase. "I attack with prinzvalium, right?" - "Stop," said @bubblegif, revealing the Officer Clip. "With this card, I get to Special Summon an Officer directly from my hand to the field. So it's Officer vs Officer." They both took 3 dice in their hands and rolled. @blue.rabbit rolled a 5, a 2 and another 5. 12 total. @bubblegif took her three dice firmly in hand, summoned the Heart of Ink once more and rolled...

A 5, a 3 and a 2. Was that the end of her? "Hold on. I activate my officer's effect. Each blogger on my side of the field gets +1 to the result of each die. Thus I am at 13 and your prinzvalium is defeated. I get the point. You lose, bunny. Lässig." Indeed. @bubblegif won the round 15-14. @blue.rabbit was seething with anger. "That was just luck, odr?" - "With the heart of ink on my side, I don't need luck." So the dream of challenging the top 4 was within reach.

While @bubblegif was giving her dog the cuddle and celebrating her victory, she didn't notice a dark hooded figure approaching her. He reached out to her and the next moment his hand was on her shoulder. She was almost scared to death.

What is this figure? Is this person the reason for the tournament participants disappearing? Is @bubblegif the next one? What will happen to her dream of playing against the top 4? Find out all this and much more in the next chapter of the CraftInk Story "CraftInk - The CraftInk Championship Tournament".

➃ COVER STORY

The last HiveFest showed that a physical HiQ edition goes down well with the Hive community. What we're going to come up with this year, you can read about here.

Another year has gone by and HiQ has certainly grown in readership during this time. So it stands to reason that we will also produce a physical edition for the new HiveFest8. This time, however, it's also because we were asked to do so.

The planning for the edition has been in full swing for a few weeks now and some potential advertisers have already been contacted. But more about that later. The upcoming HiveFest will take place in Mexico. In Rosarito, to be exact, and the editors @quekery and @smooms have already ironed their ponchos and unpacked their sombreros and are ready for tequila on the beach. (Editor's note: Maybe not the latter. And the first and second may not be so real either, but only symbolic. LOOL) The tickets for HiveFest are already bought, so there's no turning back.

This time our raging editor, @mary-me, will NOT be going, which might encourage @quekery and @smooms to go camping again, but we think the likelihood of that is 0%. Camping sounds really cool, but in reality it really sucks. (Note from @quekery: In my defence however, I must also note in a note that the weather was terrible. LOOL) So now we have to take care of the accommodation and the journey. More on that later, too. LOOL

HiveFest8 - Ola Surfista

Of course, we don't want to leave you without facts about the upcoming HiveFest. Of course, we have already done a lot of research on the festival and know everything there is to know about THE event in 2023.

Like last year, the entrance fees will be staggered. First of all, they depend on the stake of the users. The bigger the stake, the more expensive the ticket will be for you. (Editor's note: This is not an obligation, however. For the sake of fairness, however, many Hivians do this so that the HiveFest remains financially viable.)

Like last year, the prices are staggered as follows:

Regular Silver Gold Platinum Ithildin
$ 485.00 $ 599.00 $ 699.00 $ 849.00 $ 999.00

Ticket prices increase every month as the event approaches. On 1 September, a standard ticket will cost $ 900, so you should get your ticket as early as possible
