En esta ocasión, quiero compartir con ustedes mi despedida del Orinoco, un río que, en su espléndido desbordamiento, se adueña del espacio que constituye su herencia natural. Volver al magnífico río es una experiencia maravillosa, un instante para deleitarse con la tranquilidad cautivadora que se experimenta al andar hasta la ribera de sus caudalosos flujos. > On this occasion, I would like to share with you my farewell to the Orinoco, a river that, in its splendid overflow, takes possession of the space that constitutes its natural heritage. Returning to the magnificent river is a wonderful experience, a moment to delight in the captivating tranquillity that one experiences when walking to the banks of its mighty flows. --- --- --- Recorrer estas calles, donde el río se adentra y juega en medio de ellas, las aceras y las antiguas casas de los vecinos que siempre levantaron sus sueños mirando los atardeceres mágicos, es un placer para mí. Me alegra volverme a encontrar con este entorno repleto de cromatismo, que propaga en mí la espumosa paz que deja huellas de amor en el alma. > Walking these streets, where the river enters and plays in the middle of them, the pavements and the old houses of the neighbours who always raised their dreams watching the magical sunsets, is a pleasure for me. I am happy to rediscover this colourful environment, which spreads a sparkling peace within me that leaves traces of love in my soul. --- --- --- --- Caicara del Orinoco es una zona espléndida que alberga en su interior numerosas historias por descubrir. Los que poblaron esta región no dejaron un manuscrito coherente acerca de su origen, así que no existe un relato escrito de su historia indígena ancestral. No obstante, comprendo que es una tierra insuperable porque no lograron someter a sus pobladores con los estruendosos sonidos de las armas, los cañones y la pólvora. Los pueblos autóctonos mostraron resistencia, ya que lograron incorporar en su cultura la sabiduría particular que proviene de la naturaleza. > Caicara del Orinoco is a splendid area that holds many stories waiting to be discovered. Those who populated this region did not leave a coherent manuscript about their origins, so there is no written account of their ancestral indigenous history. However, I understand that it is an unsurpassable land because they failed to subdue its inhabitants with the thunderous sounds of weapons, cannons and gunpowder. The indigenous peoples showed resistance, as they managed to incorporate into their culture the particular wisdom that comes from nature. --- --- --- Un árbol viejo, abatido por el tiempo, se yergue aquí como un centurión para proteger la hermosura del paisaje. Las curiaras están preparadas para transportar, en sus bongos, la esperanza de los pobladores de esta ciudad ribereña. > An old tree, worn down by time, stands here like a centurion to protect the beauty of the landscape. The curiaras are ready to transport, in their bongos, the hopes of the inhabitants of this riverside town. Con la añoranza de volver el próximo año para lavarme las manos y la cara con esta agua bendita, así me despido este año. Ella es mi fuerza espiritual y la energía que alimenta mi espíritu para volver a las rutas de mis irresistibles aventuras esenciales, que me permiten elevarme de cima en cima. > With the longing to return next year to wash my hands and face with this blessed water, I bid farewell to this year.
