It’s a late-night, midweek experiment:

I'm out of beer but have got an el-cheapo 7-11 bottle of Chilean "Gran Andes Chardonnay" that I picked up for just under ¥600.

Question: Can Gran Andes Chardonnay inspire me to win online blitz chess while commentating on the games?

I played two blitz games to find out... First as White, and then as Black.

I opened with the Queen's pawn as White, and with the hyper modern (Sniper) as Black.

Apart from the Chilean wine inspiration, my other inspiration was the Cuban grandmaster, Capablanca, although I hardly played to his level, especially in the first game when I blundered a piece in the opening, but haply in doing so drew Black's queen into a dodgy situation!

In the second game, although I didn't play Sniper practitioner Charlie Storey's recommended third move (3... d5) against White's 1.e4, 2.d4, 3.f4 pawn front, I nevertheless got myself into a nice position for a middlegame chess and endgame wine victory!

2-0 to 7-11's Chilean wine and a successful experiment! More research will be needed, however...
