Hello, Silver Bloggers!

Here we are again to showcase another bunch of posts from our Silver Bloggers - it's that time when we share some of your gems.

We appreciate your posts in the community so as long as we have posts from our Silver Bloggers we will try to highlight some of them.

But first, let me tell you how we selected the posts.

Selection criteria

All the posts are chosen from posts in the community, and from accounts that have subscribed to the Silver Bloggers' community. Also, the topic must fit in with our general themes as set out on our community page -

• a keenness to learn more about blockchain and crypto
• life experiences
• musings and memories of lives lived
• planning for (and doing) life beyond formal work

Posts that are a response to #BOM and #SilverPrompts or any contest in the community are not considered.

My purpose of life is nothing more than the union and family welfare, I consider that since I was a child I have carried out this purpose unintentionally, it is what motivates me every morning to get up and move forward despite the circumstances; it is to live and plan for them, to be well and be happy.

Reviewing my 2024

I am a bit late with this post but January is not completely over just yet. It is a long write up and a heap of photos, probably my longest ever but it was a busy year. Funny how time flies especially when your having fun. Looking back always helps me feel grateful, lucky and helps start thinking of the year ahead.

It is not easy, not everyone knows how to teach. You hear people say “that person knows a lot, but they don’t know how to teach it.” Those of us who have dedicated ourselves to this understand how complex it is to reach the mind of each person. There are people who find it very difficult to explain something so simple, like doing a banking transaction over the Internet. They get confused, especially if they are also mature.

Today there is a tendency to ‘See but do not observe’

It is not that I am invisible that there are acquaintances and friends who pass by us and do not even take the trouble to say hello, and it is not that I want them to stop and hug or kiss us, which we have removed from greetings after COVID, but there are thousands of words associated with greetings and gestures that also indicate this. It is so nice to meet a friend or acquaintance and be able to share a greeting, to show joy at the encounter, a kind gesture, a smile and perhaps even a piece of advice to ease the worries of both parties. We need it so much today.

Memoir Monday: If you had to summarize your purpose in life in one sentence, what would it be and why?

At the age of 7, while I was learning to write and add, I was also teaching my grandmother how to write and add, because I wanted her to learn like me. I remember coming home and after eating lunch and doing my homework, explaining to my grandmother how the letters and numbers were made. Every story I learned in school, I would pass it on with patience, but most of all with a lot of emotion to my grandmother. It was my way of giving her back so many stories, but also of teaching her new things.

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, well, let me tell you folks, it sure was my "HAPPY MEAL" I hope I made all you silver haired, sunny, super, special people hungry and inspired you to try new foods. You are what you eat.
