The Shark Tank Community

I've started this community with the idea to bring Hive project owners and investors together. There are quite some interesting projects on Hive that are really beneficial for this blockchain. Project owners can apply for support of the DHF, but that takes a lot of work to get that done and also a lot of responsibilities. For smaller projects the DHF isn't an option. The Shark Tank is a community where these 'smaller' Hive projects can pitch their project in order to gain attention of 'the Sharks'. The sharks in this case is everyone with a Hive stake. By pitching your project you can get some extra upvotes, delegations or tips.

Pitching a project

Everyone that runs a Hive project can create pitch blog in this community. The funds you receive should be used to grow your project. You need to convince the 'sharks', so explain your project in the pitch blog. Write what the project is about and how the Hive community profits from it. Be transparent on how you will spend the support you gain. Explain what kind of support you are looking for. Extra funds in the form of curation rewards, delegation, donations. Add an account, tag, community or other way investors can find your recent posts to follow the project updates and eventually upvote them for support!

Investing in a project

Everyone can invest in a project. If you have some Voting Power to spend, please consider voting one of the projects. Every project can use some extra upvotes or delegations to grow bigger. Please subscribe to the Shark Tank community, so these project pitches will show up in your Community Feed! Read the pitches carefully so you know what the project is about and how they will spend the funds.

The #HIVEPROJECT hashtag

Together with this community I also created the #hiveproject hashtag. Every Hive project that is good for the Hive blockchain can add this hashtag to their project update posts. And I would like to encourage every stakeholder to check out the stream of this tag whenever you have some Voting Power left. It would be great if more stakeholders would upvote project posts. That would really help these projects grow, which is beneficial for the entire blockchain.

Some rules

I've just started this community, so we'll have to see how things work out. But I did set some rules to keep it organized. This community only allows pitches of project blogs. Accounts that post other blogs are muted. Please keep it with 1 pitch a month to prevent an overflow of blogs from the same project. You can refer to recent project blogs in your pitch, so investors can find the latest updates.

Why this matters

Hive is full of creative people with great ideas. Because of a lack of visibility or support in the early stages, some projects stay small. With the Shark Tank community and the #hiveproject hashtag, I hope we can make it easier for Hive projects to find some more support so they can grow. If we support each other’s initiatives, the whole Hive ecosystem becomes stronger. We would all benefit from this.

So if you are running a project on Hive, come and pitch it here. If you are a stakeholder, take a look at the projects and give them some support. Even a small upvote can make a difference. A lot of small upvotes can end up in a significant amount in the end.
