Howdy to you all, my fellow Midnight Owls,

It is nice to have you all in the first prompt for the Midnight Letters community. As I mentioned in the introductory post to this community, I will be sharing some weekly community prompts for the midnight owls to write something about. Note that these prompts are not compulsory for you all to write about it but it would be more creative to share something, so we get to learn a thing or two from each Midnight owl.

This week's prompt is:

Jam for the Midnight

Talk about a song, it could be your favourite song that you love to listen to at midnight, or it could be a special song you discovered while being up at midnight. Whatever the story is around the song is welcome as long as you listened to the song at midnight. Share screenshots, and if you want, you can go the extra mile of making a cover of the song or sharing a video of the song. As Midnight Owls of the community, let's update one another's playlist. There is love in sharing.

Use the hashtag #midnightletters and post only in the Midnight Letters community. No cross-posting.

It is only fair that I go first

A jam for the midnight, I discovered when being up at midnight is

28 by Ruth B. ft Dean Lewis

I do not mean to be exaggerative, but this jam is spiritual . The mixture of the sound and the beautiful voices of Ruth and Dean makes it even better. You know that one night when you are up soloquizing about your life, memories, and some poor choices, then you add this song to your thought process, trust me, it is almost eye watering.

The song is a breakup song that talks about how both partners put each other first above their wants and self, and despite all this, the relationship failed. It goes to speak about how things can still fail despite your nourishing and attention. What is not even funny is how the lyrics are so clear as both artists sing them melodiously. Do not even get me started with how the song is so lovely when you listen to it at midnight when there is less noise, just you, your speaker or earpiece, or earbuds as the song goes on and on.

I have to admit that when I listened to this song for the first time, I left it on repeat for more than I can count. I would not be surprised that the artists both get sore throats because of how many times I played the song.

For the artists, I discovered Ruth B's lovely voice when I listened to Lost Boy for the first time, also during the late hours of midnight, and for Dean Lewis, I discovered him when I listened to his song Half a Man from the CW TV show Legacies, a spin-off of The Originals.

Here is a lyric video of the song if you would like to listen to it:

This is one jam I recommend for the Midnight. What is yours?
