A win is a Win: The Power of Magic attack and Bloodlust Ability

2025 Latest_20251108_172619_0000.jpg There were times when I narrowly won battles: when I said narrowly, I mean, I won those battles with a monster left in my battles, and if my last monster missed the target, I might have lost the battles. The last battle I played yesterday in the modern ranked battle, I and my opponent was left with a monster; I was left with an opportunity melee monster called Broken Earth Thug, while my opponent was left with a ranged monster called Meriput Slinger. The moment Meriput Slinger led the lineup, I could not attack again, and that was how I won the battle.

There were times I won battles without losing a monster- but it is not often, it happens sometimes. I played such a battle yesterday. This happens when an opponent made a mistake, using the wrong monsters in a battle. I remember some time ago when I was paired with a player that mistakenly used melee monsters in a back to basics rule. My opponent could not destroy a monster from my lineup due to this lineup. Since I understand the rule very well, I used magic monsters from the first position to last position. Yesterday when I battled with a player of level 6 summoner, my monsters were destroyed with a twinkle of an eye.

A win is a win either you narrowly win or you defeat your opponent hands down. What matters to me is getting points and rewards for the battle.

What strategy did I use in this battle? The moment I realized it was equal opportunity and are you not entertained? Rules, I made immediate judgement by using more magic monsters in this battle. If you looked at my lineup, I did not use a melee monster. Using melee monsters in this kind of battle would be my biggest challenge because a melee monster needs to destroy the armor before health. i knew Ulundin Overseer is a non-attack monster; I introduced Moxian Rebel to give Ulundi Overseer weapon. I knew that Moxian Rebelwould not be able to attack before it was eliminated; I brought it into this battle because of the Ulundin Overseer. I introduced gladiator card with magic attack: this was my best choice- I knew that it would have taken much time for Marisol Contuma to eliminate a monster due to the armor of the majority of the monsters that was used by my opponent. More also, I understand how a gladiator works- the more it kills, the stronger it becomes. Seriously, without Captain Katie there would be no way I would have won this battle; without Captain Katie I would not be able to eliminate Dar Gottem Gearnut.

Rules of the battle

1762618888208748748886939369079.png Equal Opportunity: All units have equal opportunity (targets the enemy unit with the least health). When this rule is activated, monsters with least health will be a target. The only reason why monsters with least health will not be a target is when a player uses a monster with taunt ability; and the moment a taunt monster is eliminated, a monster with least health will be the next target. Hence, Moxian Rebel was the first monster that was eliminated in my lineup because it was a monster with smallest health.

Monsters Arrangement 17626188456448777618471969516895.jpg

Ulundin Overseer Splinter: Neutral ⚔️⚔️⚔️ Level: 1 ⭐ Speed: 1 🚤 Ability: Flank Health: 12 ❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Armor: 6 🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖 Attack: None Mana*: 11 One of the reason I used Ulundin Overseer was the ‘mana’ given in this battle. The ‘mana’ could accommodate any monster in splinterlands. Introduction of Ulundin Overseer helped in this battle in the sense that it was able to delay monsters in the opponent’s front position for a longer time. At round 3, Ulundin Overseer’s health was intact. That is to tell how good it was in this battle. Ulundin Overseer** was finally eliminated in the round of 5 when it was a monster that was left from the opponent's lineup.

17626188012698574655981041687631.jpg Moxian Rebel Splinter: Neutral ⚔️⚔️⚔️ Level: 1 ⭐ Speed: 1 🚤 Ability: Weapon Training Health: 1 ❤️ Armor: 2 🪖🪖 Attack: Magic Mana: 4 I already knew that Moxian Rebel would not be able to attack in this battle; what I needed from Moxian Rebel was the weapon training. My lineup would not complete without Moxian Rebel because I wanted Ulundin Overseer to attack also. Damaging a unit of health from Grimbardun Fighter made its health smaller. Can you see that without weapon training, it would have been difficult to eliminated Grimbardun Fighter. Moxian was the first monster to be eliminated in battle because it was the monster with least unit of health.

1762618757673791711057725872589.jpg Mystic Mudbinder Splinter: Life 💧💧💧 Level: 3 ⭐⭐⭐t Speed: 3 🚤🚤🚤 Ability: Oppress Health: 6 ❤️❤️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Attack: Magic Mana: 9 The factor that made me to use Mystic Mudbinder was the magic. I needed more magic attack monsters than any other attacking monsters in this lineup. It wasn't because of the armor or health, it was because of its health. After the elimination of Moxian Rebel, Mystic Mudbinder was the second monster that was eliminated in my lineup. At round of one, it attacked Olivia of the Brook and damaged which was eliminated by Janni Rebel. By the end of round 1, a monster was eliminated from my lineup and two monsters were eliminated from my opponent’s lineup.

Janni Rebel.jpg Janni Rebel Splinter: Life Level: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Speed: 2 🚤🚤 Ability: Inspire and Flank Health:9 ❤️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Armor: 1 🪖 Attack: Magic Mana: 9 The two abilities of Janni Rebel was not most important things to me in this battle; it was magic attack that was important and th health. Janni Rebel was attacking opponent’s monsters from the first round to the last round. Only two monsters were able to reach the end, and Janni Rebel was one of them. After Ulundin Overseer, Janni Rebel was the second monster with highest health in my lineup, and the health made it impossible to attack u till the last round when it led the battle.

Captain Katie.png Captain Katie Splinter: Life 💧💧💧 Level: 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Speed: 3 🚤🚤🚤 Ability: Snipe and Blood lust Health: 7 ❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️♥️ Armor: 1 🪖 Attack: Magic Mana: 7 What a opportunity for me to use Captain Katie in this battle. I knew that Captain Katie was one of the monsters that could give me the victory. Sincerely speaking, I saw Marisol Contuma but I wasn't freak to use it. The reason was that I knew that majority of my opponent’s monsters would have armor, and when I selected summoner, I picked summoner that give friendly monsters armor; and I knew if my opponent do the same, it would be difficult for my Marisol Contuma to eliminate a monster. That was how I picked Janni Rebel over Marisol Contuma. Just like the way I thought, Janni Rebel was the first monster to eliminate in my lineup, and her stats increased. That was exactly what I wanted: at round 3, it attacked and eliminated opponent’s Mystic Mudbinder and it stats increased; at round 5, it attacked and eliminated Marisol Contuma and her stats increased.

It was round 5 opponent’s Marisol Contuma eliminated a monster. I believe if I used my Marisol Contuma, it would have had opportunity to elimimate.

Calabash Sage.jpg Calabash Sage Splinter: Life 💧💧💧 Level: 1 ⭐ Speed: 1 🚤 Ability: Shield Health: 6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️ Armor: 1 🪖 Attack: Ranged Mana: 10 I knew that my opponent would use a melee monster, and that was the reason I brought Calabash Sage to this battle. Opponent’s monsters started to attack Calabash Sage at round 2 and was eliminated in the 3rd round. If not because of the shield ability, it would have been eliminated very fast.

My Favorite cards My favorite card is Captain Katie in this battle. This was because of the bloodlust ability and magic attack. It it were melee attack, it wouldn’t have do such incredible work. The bloodlust made it starts- health, armor, speed and magic attack to increase; if it was the only monster that was left in my lineup, ** Dar Gottem Gearnut cannot defeat her. The combination of Ulundin Overseer and Moxian Rebel were incredible. Though, Moxian Rebel could not attack but gave weapon to Ulundin Overseer**.
