     Desde hace ya varias décadas, el mundo de los juegos dio un giro tan radical, que pasamos de estar varias horas del día entretenidos con deportes, artes manuales o actividades que implicaban movimiento físico o compartir entre varios sentados a la mesa o en un patio de recreo. >! [English]For several decades now, the world of games has taken such a radical turn that we have gone from being entertained several hours a day with sports, arts and crafts or activities involving physical movement or sharing among several people sitting at the table or in a playground.  Desde la aparición de consolas como el Atari, los playstations, las desarrolladas por Nintendo y toda la gama de juegos en formato digital, los niños fueron no solo adoptando esa tecnología como parte de sus actividades lúdicas, sino también, dejando de lado todo lo tradicional. Con el tiempo, los juegos en línea provistos por internet y su rápida expansión a nivel mundial, dieron paso a un nuevo vocablo: "los gamers o videogamers" que más allá de ser una actividad recreativa, tiene el formato de ser un oficio para aquellos que se han especializado, a tal punto que participan en competencias internacionales, devengando un pago por su performance en algún videojuego. >! También surgieron - o se aplicaron - nuevos términos dentro de la jerga de los gamers, siendo catalogados como pro aquellos cuyo rendimiento es óptimo, o noobs (novatos) los que no dominan las estrategias, o peor aún, los que pierden, y ser llamado así es una burla o una humillación para el jugador. >! [English]New terms also emerged - or were applied - within the gamers' jargon, being catalogued as pro those whose performance is optimal, or noobs (rookies) those who do not master the strategies, or worse, those who lose, and being called so is a mockery or humiliation for the player.
