I consider myself a big fan of García Márquez's work, as a journalist and especially as a writer, but despite having read several of his works, including of course the most famous One Hundred Years of Solitude, I had never had the opportunity, until now, to read The Colonel Has No One to Write to Him, but fortunately I was able to find the book, albeit in digital format, but I don't rule out the possibility of being able to acquire it one day in physical format.

Sometimes we seek in reading a refuge, an escape, and that's why we usually turn to fiction. However, there are also times when we need a more realistic dose, and that's when non-fiction books come in. These works are often invaluable tools that many professionals have created to guide us, inspire us and help us understand ourselves better.

Well... I will say it. There are books and there are books. There are books you read and you just be like “well, that was good”, and then, the ones you read that just makes you sit there trying to process what you just read. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn was that book for me. It wasn’t the typical thriller book I was used to, I actually started the book thinking it was just another story about a missing wife.

In this sense; I present the legal text Medios de prueba y Criminalística written by Wilmer de Jesús Ruiz, together with Jesús Daniel Ruiz. Simply; this is a work that lovers of this world must have at home; and not only in our country Venezuela, but can easily be enjoyed by the public in other latitudes. I say this because here is reflected in a global way, an unbreakable relationship between what represents the criminal investigation and criminal law; therefore, it is of utmost importance to know how through forensic science, you can reach the collection of the necessary evidence, which are the support to promote accusations or defenses at the time of being immersed in a trial.

A week ago, in the Hive Book Club weekly hangout, I shared that I was going through a phase where everything just didn't seem right. For more than two months, I had been struggling to read. Books are one of my favorite things in the entire world. I wouldn't know what to say if someone asked me to choose between books, anime, and chess. Now, imagine not being able to do what brings you joy? Your favorite things. The worst part was that I couldn't pinpoint where the problem was coming from. All I knew was that I kept struggling to read books. Whenever I picked up a book, I would not be able to go past a few pages. So, last week, I decided that enough was enough; I had to make it stop. I decided that whether I liked it or not, I had to start reading a book.
