Who should decide which types of creators get recognized in Web3?

If there's one thing we've learned with Hive, it's this: the community always decides.

That's why, for the Hive Creators Awards 2025, we want to make something very clear: before we publish the final list of categories, we're opening the conversation to the people who create, publish, and build here every single day.

This post is a community call - we want you to help us shape this year's categories.

Why are we asking for your input?

Categories aren't just a way to organise content; they define the kinds of creative work we value as a community.

We already have a draft list of categories covering areas such as:

Lifestyle & storytelling
Photography & art
Travel
Makeup, Art, Sports
Gaming, Play2Earn & Splinterlands
Web3, blockchain, finance & industry analysis
Education, community projects & social impact
Music, podcasts, video, in-person events, and more

But before we finalise anything, we want to hear from the people on the other side of the screen: the ones creating every day.

In total, we expect to have around 15 categories or fewer.

How can you suggest a category?

We want this process to be simple and clear.
If you want to propose a new category - or refine an existing one - leave a comment using this format:

Category name:
What type of creator it recognises:
Examples of content that fit here:

Example:

Category name: Web3 Builders & Dapp Creators
Recognises: people building tools, dapps, front-ends, or bots for Hive.
Examples: new front-ends, content-ranking tools, helpful bots, dashboards, etc.

You can also:

Propose a renaming to make a category clearer.
Suggest combining or splitting categories that feel too broad or too narrow.
Tag other creators who might contribute valuable ideas.

What will we do with the suggestions?

We will read every comment and group similar proposals together.
The categories that appear most frequently and best align with the spirit of the awards (tags or topics with high activity on Hive and real community impact) will be prioritised.
Some of them will move into the final list of categories for 2025, which we'll announce before nominations open.

This is the moment to show what the Hive community is capable of - starting with how we decide who gets celebrated.

¿Quién debe decidir qué tipos de creadores se premian en Web3?

Si algo hemos aprendido con Hive es que la respuesta siempre es la misma: la comunidad.

Por eso, para esta edición de los Hive Creators Awards 2025, queremos dejar algo muy claro: antes de cerrar el listado final de categorías, vamos a abrir la conversación con quienes crean, publican y construyen aquí todos los días.

Este post es un community call: queremos que tú nos ayudes a definir las categorías de este año.

¿Por qué te estamos pidiendo ayuda?

Las categorías no son solo una forma de encontrar el contenido; también definen qué tipo de trabajo creativo valoramos como comunidad.

Ya tenemos un borrador de categorías que cubren áreas como:

Lifestyle y storytelling
Fotografía y arte
Viajes
Makeup, Art , Sports
Gaming, Play2Earn y Splinterlands
Web3, blockchain finanzas y análisis del sector
Educación, proyectos comunitarios, impacto social
Música, podcast, video, eventos presenciales y más

Pero antes de cerrarlo, queremos escuchar a quienes están del otro lado de la pantalla creando todos los días.

En total vamos a tener unas 15 categorías o menos.

¿Cómo puedes sugerir una categoría?

Queremos que este proceso sea simple y claro.
Si quieres proponer una categoría nueva, o ajustar alguna, deja un comentario con este formato:

Ejemplos de contenido que encajan aquí:

Ejemplo:

Nombre de la categoría: Web3 Builders & Dapp Creators
Reconoce a: personas que crean herramientas, dapps, frontends o bots para Hive.
Ejemplos: frontends nuevos, herramientas para valorar contenido, bots útiles, dashboards, etc.

También puedes:

Proponer renombrar una categoría para que se entienda mejor.
Sugerir unir o separar categorías que consideres muy amplias o muy específicas.
Etiquetar a otros creadores que podrían aportar buenas ideas.

¿Qué haremos con las propuestas?

Vamos a leer todos los comentarios y agrupar las propuestas similares.
Las categorías que más se repitan y mejor encajen con el espíritu de los premios (tags o categorías con más usuarios en Hive e impacto real) serán priorizadas.
Algunas de ellas podrán pasar al listado final de categorías de 2025, que anunciaremos antes de abrir las nominaciones.

Este es el momento de demostrarlo también en la forma en la que definimos a quiénes premiamos.
