Looking Back, Going Forward

Just like yesterday when we all anticipated the new year to arrive. The year seems to be moving so fast, as if someone is pulling it with all the energy in him. What is in the mind of many now is how Christmas will be spent, what and what they will buy, children's clothes, and how many chickens will be laying down their lives for them. In the part of the world I stay, they take this Christmas celebration and the meals around it so seriously. The woman I buy spices from told me that from the end of next month she will bring in spices so people will start buying in preparation for Christmas. I smiled deep within and asked her if it's only during Christmas that people eat healthy meals.My year has been going so well because my major target was to deliver my baby safely and be able to nurture him in good health. God granted my request, though after delivery I was very sick and down for weeks due to nursing stress, and I didn't have many hands to help me with chores, so I didn't basically do anything. _____ All thanks to the help from my husband coupled with the older kids, whom I have to care for. Seriously, the first three months as a new mom were so stressful for me. My baby does not sleep for too long either in the day or during the night. It was exhausting; I suffered ear pain on several occasions with BP instability, which was as a result of the birth stress. The year has been full of work for me, to the point that I really have no time for myself. There are several things that I wish I did but forget them, just to remember them late in the night, and that has been my way for several months. I always have it as a routine to improve my knowledge on my areas of interest yearly, and this year is not an exception. _____ As the year began, I was in search of such opportunities; eventually, I got one after I gave birth in April, but to date, I have not been able to finish up with the course because of time constraints. I made the course so flexible to be able to suit me. After that course there is another course, which I also want to carry on with. I just wish that as school is resuming, I will be able to engage. Initially I was thinking this break will be enough for me to take those courses, but it seems that I had more time when the kids were in school than when they were home, especially this one we decided to have with us.Inasmuch as I wish for the year to go but am not in a hurry at all. _____ Initially many people prayed for the year to run fast due to the kind of hardship that came with it, but presently things are getting really better than even the year that ended. The most of all I pray for is life and good health to be able to do all I wish to do even as the kids will be resuming for a new session soon. Thank you for reading
