this my definition of modesty, seriously this is a thing of growing concern in our society, in this 21st-Century era it's no body's business what anybody decides to put on, just mind your business and go on, we have so jeopardized the sense of modesty, such that anything goes...
personally for me I grew up with this sense of decent dressing, because I feel it commands some respect to me, I love to dressed decent and look modest, I just love the feeling that I look okay and sometimes get complement for it.
but seriously the issue of what modesty mean to everybody is a totally different ball game, because the word modesty is a subjective word, meaning what's called modesty to one is the exact opposite to another.
I understand the place of moral ethics and societal standards in what modesty should mean but now we see people don't care, they sweep all that under the carpet and go about doing whatever pleases them, both male and female, watching these skits of how a young man publicly embarrassed a lady who dressed half naked out on the street, literally flogging this lady to go home and change into something nice.
we see this everyday but no one can even say a word ofcourse they will ask you is it your business?, is it your body?, I mean the 21century society has lost it when it come to dressing, both genders no one cares anymore .
True they say dress the way you want to be addressed, like the lady that was harrased she called for that, apart from that all these modes of dressing calls for some form of Harrasment , because they way some ladies dress you will be wandering what message they are trying to communicate.
recently I heard of a lady who went for an interview the moment she entered everybody stood up to greet her , thinking she was one of the company staffs, she told them no she is actually here for an interview at the end of the day she got the job , because even the interviewer was impressed by her out fit.
it look like the society have lost it, but there are still those with good sense of modesty, now everything and anything is fashion in the end of it all the way you dress gives people an impression of who you're and goes a long way to either open you up for an opportunity or let you loose some.
