before now as a Nigerian I've really been wondering what's happening cause I've come across some Nigerians on hive and the community then wasn't active, knowing what we Nigerians are I was confused, it all seem everyone I met were on steeze like a hidden identity, acting big and outside the reach of other Nigerians.
as a newbie I was really excited about Hive and everything was happening so fast and I was happy to have found this global space to express my self, but then I was looking out for my people, my nija brothers and sisters, I was just wondering why these other Nigerians who have spent years here and have climbed the hive ladder to the top are not showing support or encouragement to other new Nigerians struggling to get hold of what's going on.
I think it was one of those days I was scanning through the @hivenaija community feed and just reading on some random post when I bumped into @samhangout or was it about the Big move?, something about a rebranded and revamped new hivenaija community and I was pretty excited to identify with my own, alas my country people were alive and I felt so good interacting with my nija brethren on hive...
when I started out on hive one of the first thing I understand is that hive thrive on the basis of engagement not some place were you just come and dump your post expecting a miracle by morning, so I'm pretty sure this what @samhangout seeks to foster among Nigerians, support, guidance, creating these connections and interactions on chain, onething I can beat my chest any where is that I'm not only proud to be a Nigerian but the fact that we Nigerians no dey carry las, so I was surprised the nija community then was so cold but thanks to the big move and Sam's hangout initiative that changed the narrative.
this drive by Sam is an amazing one, somehow Sam's hangout has been able to fish out alot of Nigerians on chain, creating engagement, genuine connections, fostering unity and bonding the nija spirit among us.
although I haven't been around since the inception of @samhangout in 2021, over three years ago, but the statistics are impressive, letting me know this is a well planned intentional move, aiming to foster engagement the weekend engagement was initiated,
then we have owambe Saturdays aimed at we all vibing with our activities over the weekend especially on Saturdays as we normally know Saturdays to be for weddings, one party to another highlife, celebration whatever festivities going on, enough to talk about ... that's what owambe Saturdays are for, then there is Sunday Reflection.
What's your most impressed Hangout topics and why?
was last month we talked about "creating genuine connections on hive was really excited about that cause I've connected engaged and bonded with many hiveans especially Nigerians, interface with few others and trust me the feeling is different, I was all out talking about it cause personally I believed hive thrive on the basis of engagement so creating this engagement became my priority on hive and @samhangout made it all possible for me to relate with many other vibrant active Nigerians on hive...
I've invited many of my friends to the hangout and also I'm part of the samhangout discord channel tho my activities do not really allow me the leisure to be active there but it's a move I love so much...
finally the samhangout physical meet up still in progress we've deliberated and still brainstorming on a lot of features and activities to make it a memorable and an unforgettable experience for Nigerians on hive, so far this move is a sweet one, kudos to sam and the entire @samhangout team ... let me drop my pen here or we'd go over a Thousand more words on this 😆 🤣 😂.
