The Wisdom of Growing Before Giving: A Lesson from the Tree

Imagine yourself being a tree. At the beginning of when the tree is growing. A farmer would not pluck the fruits at an early stage but it will allow it to grow, bear many fruits and many branches. Why? Because when you over harvest a young tree that is just coming up, it can stunt the growth or worsen the development of the tree.

This same principle applies to us humans when it comes to being generous. So if you give too much, much soon when you have not built yourself, you might never reach your full potential in life. So there is this saying that you cannot help the poor if you serve a poor. This carried a very important truth. It’s not about being that selfish or trying to hold resources. This is about trying to grow your surface to a maximum standard before trying to help people or trying to be important to yourself.

We need to actually know that and understand yourself just like a tree. You need times to grow and make yourself strong. You need to establish that the fruits so that you can bear abundance fruit. If you’re that person that always give your resources too soon, then you might never end up being at the top of your life, and you risk reducing yourself enough to keep thriving as you should.

Think about this: you are a mature tree that needs to get stronger before you can provide more foods and offer shelter and abundance to those around you years to come. So when you more focus on building that stability, whether in education, being disciplined, or just in your personal good, you’re preparing to give sustainable impact.

This is not just about not being generous at all or being stingy on your resources. It’s about choosing to give wisely and maintaining yourself when you are at the beginning of creating something big.

I remember one of my friends who in her career gave away so much of her time and money just to please others. And at the end of it, she struggled to pay her own bill. She wanted to be the savior of everyone. She wanted to carry everyone along. But over time, she learned that this will not take her so far. She now learned how to prioritize herself as kids and save the energy, and that is how she was able to build a solid business and solid life for herself. Today, she can survive in that community without falling or without flinching.

This approach is not about giving but it’s about knowing what really matters at some point in life. You have to nurture yourself before you can help others. You have to guide yourself to the top before you can lift others from the dust. So you have to be patient, focus on building our strength, so when the time comes, we are ready.

So let that energy flow from that place of strength, and we all will be inspired to all do the same.
