Today was another exciting day accompanying @manujune in her public relations commitments. Journalists María Fernanda Zambrano (@mafer.zb26) who works for @mundourweb with the segment Una historia que contar (a story to tell) was finally coming to our place. She was the first journalist that contacted @manujune after her viral video, but due to different complications she had not been able to work on the interview for her radio/TV program. Today, they finally met and the interview will be a reality soon.
I decided to go to the barbershop early because I was already looking a bit scruffy.
After the haircut, my wife and I went grocery-shopping.
We tried a different place which had some "good" prices.
Truth be told no price is low now with this rampant inflation, but things are getting so bad any cent counts now.
Ms. Zambrano arrived with her crew at about 2:15 p.m. and we got ready for the interview.
The took some time setting up the equipments. The white backgrounds was not helping.
In the meantime, these girls got the chance to break the ice and get to know each other a bit.
They filmed @manunune alone first, answering Ms. Zambrano's questions. They checked the results and moved on to the performances.
@manujune sang one song.
After that, the filmed the closing remarks of the interview and a brief violin performance.
Finally, they insisted on getting us in front of the camera 🤦🏽. They brought only one mic, so my wife did all the taking. I felt relieved 🤭
After the journalist and crew left, we also went out to visit my wife's brother. They are traveling to Cumaná tomorrow and she needed to send something.
We took a bus that took for ever to pass and it was already rush hour.
We got off by Parque Cristal, a place that looks fantastic. We have to come back some other day and explore inside and around.
I loved this statue.
And joked with June about this car. A great example of the contrasts we can find in this country.
We had a great time at Lucy's. This was the apartment where @manujune slept when they came to Caracas the day before the diagnosis. I was glad she had time to share with her uncle.
And my wife too. They rarely see each other or share, so I know these brief moments of joy, having left behind the fear and pain of that day more than a year ago, will be precious for them.
