First time Visiting Plaza Altamira and Vassari Gelato

Today, we went out for a walk. We had several pending things, but ended up doing something different. Even though we have been in Caracas for more than a year and have been to Chacao ("the richest municipality of Venezuela") a few times, this was the first time we stopped at Plaza Altamira. It was the best decision.

As it has become "normal" these days, the weather made us doubt whether it was a good thing to go out. The sun had been playing hide and week all day.

We decided to try our luck at about 4 pm. We were lucky. It did not rain.

We took a bus to Plaza Altamira and everywhere around offered great sights to see.

We loved these sculptures. A very cool modern/surreal touch.

This is definitively the best taken care of part of the city.

Whoever designed this areas did an amazing job combining urban and natural elements.

The fountain was not working at that moment, but we got to see it later.

We relaxed. Walked around

Took tons of pictures

And noticed the little details. Pity this was empty. It is supposed to always have books, but Venezuela being Venezuela...

We were going to meet a relative to give them a package to take back home to one of my wife's relatives. However, they were busy, so we improvised.

We started wandering and then my wife suggested we try to find that ice cream parlor I had mentioned to her months ago.

We had some trouble with Waze, but @manujune saved us using Google maps instead.

We were just a few minutes away from the gelateria. 🤤😋

It was smaller than I thought, but fortunately it was everything I had imagined it would be in terms of the quality of their gelato.

I would have liked to have the money and the stomach to try every single flavor, but I had to settle for one scoop for now.

1000429001.jpg

I tried pistacho

1000429003.jpg

My wife went for tiramisú

Both flavors were delicious (although My wife could not even swallow the pistacho gelato). Funny how someone's favorite food can taste horribly to someone else.

When we walked back to catch a bus, the plaza was all lit and the "water fall" was on!

We had a great time. Everything looked and tasted great and we had no incidentes to report on our way back.

We definitively plan to come back for more (ice cream😄).
