I can say about this country that it completely overwhelmed me. You will not see such a landscape anywhere in the world.

Hello dear Hive community!

Seeing the Northern Lights live has always been on my bucket list. So I decided to book a trip to Iceland for me and my partner. We left in February. Before leaving, our family told us to wear the warmest clothes, saying that we would be freezing up there. The weather conditions in Iceland are quite interesting. In one second the wind is blowing with freezing rain, in the next the sun is already shining.

We also left for nature. It's really something incredible. We saw the mighty waterfalls. Their greatness. I always wore a raincoat as the drops danced happily in the air.

We also visited one of the most dangerous beaches. The waves reach a height of up to 30 meters. The sand is black, which makes this beach even more special. We admired the sea from a distance and waited for the sunset.

Icelanders are people who still believe in magical creatures. They have many stories and legends. In this picture we have Iceland Castle. On the left side of the castle is the library, and on the right side the trolls have their kitchen.

We also saw a petrified troll. They say it protects people from danger. The atmosphere itself gives such a feeling that you yourself start to believe in supernatural beings.

I would also like to mention that Iceland was the land of the Vikings. These primitive roots can still be felt in the culture.

Their traditional food is the Greenland shark. I must say that the taste and especially the smell are very specific.

I saw seal here for the first time. Unfortunately, there were only three seals lying lazily on the beach at that moment. Ice sheets on the sea surface create beautiful ice sculptures. GOPR1161.JPG

We also reached the glacier, as we walked there we really felt the power of nature. The sun was shining in the parking lot, but when we were halfway there, we were caught in a snowstorm. I could not see anything in front of me, the wind was strong, the snow was falling horizontally. But as I mentioned at the beginning, the weather changes extremely quickly. After 2 minutes, the sun greeted us again. The color of the ice is a beautiful blue. My favorite color.

Of course, we also went to see the wreckage of the American military aircraft DC-3, which crashed on Sólheimasandur beach in 1974.

I will dedicate the end to my fulfilled wish. Northern Lights. Seeing it live is truly something spectacular, I think everyone who has seen them agrees with me.
