Do we truly find happiness or we make it? I’ll say happiness is the state of feeling joyful about a particular thing or person. Happiness gives us room for loving more. I believe it can both be found and made. For one to be happy, it requires them to be in a position when they decide to be happy no matter what they seem to be going through. They give in so much to make themselves happy despite what their current situations may be. Or they either find something or someone that gives them a reason to want to be happy.
In either cases, happiness is free as long as that’s what we believe it to be. A lot of times we loose sight of the fact that happiness is not so far from us. We blindly let our happiness be based on different things that shouldn’t be and when these things go wrong, we lose every form of feeling happy and at that time, we start doubting the need to find or make happiness.
Just like a man who thought happiness was only based on how much you can provide for yourself and those around you. He literally despises anyone that looked happy or try to be happy even when they are poor. To him, they don’t have any business with being happy when they can’t sort their bills, until he finally met someone who made him change that view of what can make us happy. In his case, he found happiness. He had money but he wasn’t happy. It felt like he was poor for too long that even when he became wealthy, he was still unable to let himself be happy.
When he met someone who was always happy with people around her, he hated her for it and did all he can to her just to make her not to be happy but it proved futile. It was only after much other torments to this person that he realized just how much happiness the person has brought to him. He struggled to accept what was happening to him but he was happy and it felt strange but beautiful.
For the person that made him happy, she was just so good at finding happiness even in the midst of chaos and also really good at sharing happiness to those around her. And for those who met her, like the man, they found happiness, for him, in a way that he least expected. It was a great lesson to him that happiness can both found and made. And we don’t need to have so much money first before we can be happy. Being happy is a choice. You can either find it in things or people or you can as well just make yourself happy whenever you want to because you can.
