SEEKING CLARITY

I was actually thinking of how to put what I had in mind into writing and it just wasn’t forming the words I wanted. I knew exactly what I wanted to talk about but it was stuck in my head. Well, I decided to just start anyways and just keep editing the words if necessary until it makes sense. So lately I have been thinking of something that I’ll like to share with us. I hope you get the message of this post and use it the way you dim fit. As children, most of us were the curious ones. We always had questions in our heads. We always wanted to know why things looked the way they did. Why people say things the way they say them. Why we have to eat different foods and not just our favorite meals. Why we have to go to school and many more questions. A lot of things just didn’t make sense to us and we never kept it to ourselves, our curiosity pushed us to seek for answers to our questions. Either by asking others who should have a good answer to our questions or by seeking out the answers ourselves. Sometimes I do wonder why God wanted us to be like children if truly we want to enter into his kingdom and now that I think about how children behave, this is one common thing among a lot of children. They are always asking questions or seeking for clarification as to why things are the way they are and why they should keep doing things the way they do them. As we grew up, these questions reduced. We get curious but not for everything that bothers us. We started being selective of the questions we ask because it started feeling childish and we are grownups. We start letting things slide. Oh! Maybe this doesn’t matter. Or it is none of my business to worry about and then we just move on. For me, for every little question we have in our minds, it is a pathway for us to gain a major understanding of something but the moment we see those questions as not necessary or childish, we lose the opportunity of getting the clarity we need. ![23wMaob6rYni5VdZ48CNZ5krPoh4bM75Nu5habVp6dZ9qGTm4PcV4frPMkXo3sLS3UeB2.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/hopestylist/23wMaob6rYni5VdZ48CNZ5krPoh4bM75Nu5habVp6dZ9qGTm4PcV4frPMkXo3sLS3UeB2.png) Living in today’s world, there are so many questions in our minds about different aspects of our lives but today, we are more focused on some than the others because they don’t seem necessary. A man once said in a movie that I watched some months back that the moment we stop learning that is the day we die. And we have always known that knowledge is power and one way to seek knowledge is to always ask questions when you are not sure about something. No man they say is an island of knowledge, so it’s fine to ask someone questions when you don’t know about something. Assumption usually is born out of pride and ignorance. Don’t let pride get in the way. When you start seeking answers to questions, you will definitely find it. Ignorance is not going to be an excuse anymore. You have so many information or ways to get answers today so you won’t be pardoned for not knowing. If you choose to ignore those questions in your mind, be willing to take full responsibility for it. I remember I was once sent by an elderly person to get something. I heard bread but I wasn’t sure. But I didn’t ask to confirm if he said bread and I rushed out to get bread. When I got back, he was so mad at me for getting bread and the next thing he asked was, “what did I ask you to get for me?” It was at that point I told him I didn’t really hear what he said but I assumed it was bread because he mostly asks me to get him bread. Then he told me something that stuck with me until today which I’m also sharing with you now. He said *“no matter what, when someone says something and you didn’t hear them, tell them to repeat themselves until you get it.”* For me, I didn’t want to ask again because I felt like I was bothering him when I ask too many times and also I wanted to prove I was a smart girl but I was wrong because he would have preferred I got him exactly what he wanted at my first trial. So today, I’m throwing away my pride and ignorance into the flames and reminding myself to always seek for clarity about things and not just assume or feel uninterested. Thank you for reading through. ❤️ * Image used was taken by me and was designed using canva *
