SHARING SPACE, LOSING CONTROL

When it comes to living the life that I have chosen for myself, it all seems perfect when I’m the only one in the picture but with others in it, even though I know it’s more of an excuse, it is harder. I’m a student as some of you know and fortunately and unfortunately for me, I have roommates and that’s because I’m trying to cut my cost so going through school won’t be even more difficult than it already is. Well, when I signed up to have a roommate, I knew it was part of the sacrifices I will have to make as a minimalist even though I thought there will be a way out.  Living with two different people is not easy for me. I can no longer just wake up one morning and choose to arrange the house just the way I want it. I mean I can but their attitude is not encouraging at all. They are cool when it comes to every other thing but not necessarily their space and that’s beginning to take a toll on me. These days I can go out of the house without even caring how arranged everything is. I have learnt how to care less because I don’t want to have any misunderstandings with them. Bedsides, it’s only just less than a year that I have to put up with this and I’m out.  I really can’t remember the last time I did a thorough decluttering. For now, we just do the minor cleanups and that’s it. Well, I have plans to do that soon but for now, my room is not in the shape that I really want it to be and that’s because I’m not the only one that decides what goes on in it. Sharing a space with someone is hard not to talk of sharing it with more than one person. But that’s not an excuse to say I’m not giving in, I’m obviously giving in but I hope that I find time to do a good decluttering because I know how beautiful the room can be when everything is in the right place.
