SOCIAL MEDIA SMACKDOWN?

There are so many social media platforms today that we engage with daily. Some of them we are yet to discover and others, even when we know they exist we have never thought about adding them to our collection of apps or sites to visit daily. And that can be because we are not too familiar with how it works or because we have tried using it once but ended up hating the whole idea of it and just deleted it from our devices. Right now, I know of so many social media apps and sites that I have and I don’t have and the truth is, picking one that should be banned out of all of them is going to be a little hard because I believe every app has it’s functions that sets it apart from others.  So for the hivelearners topic, **BANNED FOR LIFE**, we are asked to share our thoughts on the social media platform that can be banned for life to make the world a better place. Right now, I don’t think any social media platform like that exists. Every social platform that is created was created for a reason and even if there is one that isn’t good, there is always room for improvement. Every social media platform out there is built to help people connect with themselves, socialize, which is the primary purpose of social media platforms. So as long as any platform is helpful in this regards, then I don’t think it deserves to be banned for life. So far so good, every platform I have seen has been a great tool to helping people connect and interact with others far and wide. Maybe I haven’t explored enough to know of any that isn’t helpful but for now, I don’t have any app that I want to be completely banned for life. Yes, a lot of apps are beginning to cause nuisance in the world but that isn’t the way it was built. Humans have somehow been able to use so many social platforms for the wrong reasons and that has made it seem like a bad platform which is why it is hard to make a choice. And besides, rather than banning any platform completely, it is best to make room for improvements and necessary changes. The truth is, taking away any social media platform or all the social media platforms since we will always have someone that likes a particular platform, we are still going to live our lives but it might be hard at first but we are definitely going to adjust. But rather than going through all that stress of banning out platforms for a lifetime just because we don’t like it, it is better to give such platforms the chance to get better and improve. Every social media platform has a mode of operation and the ‘how to use’. Unless we acknowledge these things, we will always find some platforms not worthwhile. Which is why we prefer some platforms over some. Usually, it is because we don’t understand how it is used and how it works or the opposite. And that’s why we always choose those platforms that we know how it works even when they might have greater importance than the ones we already know. And also, every social media platform is not for just everyone. There are some that gives us what we need from social media while others just become a waste of time. So choose the social platforms that resonates with your expectations from the social media and try to learn how others work better or just let them be. That way, you will see that there is no social media platform that deserves to be completely banned for life. Thank you for reading through. 💜
