Las eliminatorias sudamericanas para el próximo mundial de fútbol que ya está muy cerca, dan mucho para hablar y analizar luego de cada fecha, más ahora que el fixture marca el cercano final y cada punto vale oro, principalmente para aquellos que están luchando por estar entre los 6 clasificados directos o al menos ese séptimo puesto que permite extender la ilusión por un tiempo más mientras disputan el repechaje.
Estuve leyendo algunas publicaciones y comentarios sobre la actuación de Venezuela en el día de ayer donde reiteradamente se menciona que no muestra la contundencia ni el buen juego que imaginan deben tener para aspirar a su primera clasificación a un mundial.
Yo que lo veo desde afuera, sin apasionamiento ni condicionamientos como lógicamente lo tienen los amigos venezolanos, quizás puede aportar una mirada distinta para explicar de otra manera ese juego que despliegan y que aparenta no poseer lo que se pretende.
Desde mi punto de vista la selección venezolana no está convencida de su juego, nadie lo está y eso se siente en el ambiente y en todo el grupo, incluido su DT. La confianza es un elemento tan importante como el juego que desarrollan y la falta de ella corroe como el ácido lo hace con el metal.
Pero la buena noticia es que no le ocurre solo a Venezuela, todas las selecciones y equipos en el mundo del fútbol tienen picos de mayor y menor confianza y es tan importante como el respaldo del buen juego.
Italia es un caso en estos momentos, ha pasado de ser dominante, donde todos le temían, a buscar esa identidad perdida de forma desesperada.

Miremos lo que pasa con Brasil, ¿creen que se olvidaron de jugar al fútbol? no se me ocurre pensarlo ni por un instante. Creo que están atravesando una crisis de confianza que desde mi punto de vista deberíamos buscarla varios años atrás, en el mundial de 2014 para ser más precisos, cuando perdieron esa semifinal de manera catastrófica con Alemania por 7 a 0, a partir de allí nunca más volvieron a sentirse ganadores y las dudas son malas consejeras a la hora de ganar torneos, principalmente cuando se deben enfrentar a las mejores selecciones del mundo.
Ahora bien, si esto le ocurre a Brasil, 5 veces campeón del mundo, que se puede esperar de Venezuela que jamás en su historia ha podido siquiera jugar un evento de esas características.

El caso inverso es Argentina, por supuesto no voy a dudar de la calidad de los jugadores de mi país, pero durante muchos años luego de perder la final en Italia 1990, la selección de mi país navegó en aguas turbulentas, llenas de dudas y poco convencidos de que podían ser mejores. En algún momento que quizás coincida casualmente con ese mundial de 2014, algo provocó un cambio, realmente merecimos quedarnos con esa copa del mundo, aunque la suerte fue esquiva; pero a partir de allí la confianza comenzó a crecer y vean ahora, dos copas América seguidas, la Finalissima y la copa del mundo en pocos años y lo mejor es que el equipo sigue con igual hambre de gloria y empuja más que el buen juego.
Otra selección que está en su mejor momento es España, será un durísimo rival el año próximo si mantiene el ritmo actual. Según mi opinión será el campeón de la Nation League y viajará a Estados Unidos en el pico de su confianza y buen juego.
Yo veo que la Vinotinto ha crecido muchísimo, en realidad todo el fútbol venezolano lo ha hecho, la prueba está en que ahora exportan jugadores cuando hasta no hace muchos años atrás solo eran considerados uno más entre tantos países donde el fútbol es semi profesional, un deporte que no estaba entre los preferidos de su propio pueblo.
No es sencillo triunfar, ni siquiera mantener un dominio total en un partido, un torneo o una época sin que en algún momento aparezcan los fantasmas de la duda, de la derrota. Les ocurre a todos y por supuesto Venezuela no es la excepción, menos aun cuando todavía le queda un largo camino por recorrer para afianzarse en este deporte tan competitivo.

Ya han logrado mucho y obviamente no ha alcanzado para estar tranquilos pero su actuación de local ha sido muy buena. A no perder las esperanzas, los buenos momentos llegarán, tarde o temprano y pese a cualquier dificultad. Solo hace falta confianza y no solo de los jugadores y cuerpo técnico.
