Hello dear friends of this wonderful community,

Today I am here to tell you about the adventure I had yesterday, an experience I want to share with all of you along with the photos I took. In recent weeks, my area has been enveloped in constant fog and cold, so I decided to gain some altitude to find milder temperatures and better weather conditions. The chosen destination was the municipality of Valli del Pasubio, located at the foot of the small Vicentine Dolomites, where I hoped to find a more marked temperature inversion. And so it was! and this made me happy!!

Starting from home with five degrees, I was amazed to find thirteen degrees at about 1000 meters above sea level. A surprising difference for late January, perhaps one of the signs of the climate changes we have been experiencing in recent years. My curiosity led me to explore a fortified structure dating back to the period between 1883 and 1887, built in response to the annexation of the Veneto region to the Kingdom of Italy, an attempt to defend the borders from Austrian attacks that later escalated into war.

This fortress, known as Forte Monte Maso, suffered damage during World War I, making only a part visitable, but only during certain events. It's really a shame that historical structures like this are not restored and opened to tourists, as they are an integral part of Italy's history. However, despite the damage, I captured some photos of the structure and its surroundings that I want to share with you, which I hope you find interesting.

As always, reflecting on history, I realized the importance of preserving these places. Near the fort, I discovered a point of interest for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts. A small local trattoria offered typical products and local dishes, and even though there were fewer people than usual due to the low season, I enjoyed the tranquility of the place, surely in summer there are more people here!!

The photos of the breathtaking panorama I captured testify to the beauty of the surrounding nature. Breathing the clean air at those altitudes was a rejuvenating experience, a stark contrast to the monotony of the plain and the pollution that exists there!! I thank all of you for reading my story, and I hope you found this short adventure with me interesting. See you in the next post, and I wish you a splendid day!
