One of which is culinary tourism, some time ago I was in Yogyakarta and I didn't forget to stop by the Bale Raos restaurant for dinner. The Bale Raos Restaurant is located in the palace complex. And the owner of the Bale Raos restaurant is the palace family.
The Bale Raos restaurant has been established since 2004, the bale Raos restaurant provides the favorite menu of previous kings until now by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono to X. With the aim of preserving the Sultan's favorite food to the public.
The Bale Raos restaurant is open from 10 am and closes at 10 pm. There are several building blocks used for dining for guest, the palace building was built in the 16th Century,the building is shaped like a traditional joglo.
The atmosphere of a Javanese palace is felt seeing the interior of the room. Favorite menus of Kings and Sultan's such as, Bestik Jawa (Javanese steak), Bestik lidah (tongue steak), Bestik komplit Jawa ( complete Javanese steak).
Gecok garem, tomato soup, fish soup, various vegetables, vegetables ser ces, vegetables terancam, oseng daun pepaya(stir fried Papaya leaves), jangan bobor komplit (complete vegetables bobor) and many other menus.
Drink recipes are prepared traditionally such as hot lemongrass, iced lemongrass. I both tried to order complete Javanese steak, bobor vegetables,braised chicken with spices, braised tofu and tempeh, ser ces vegetables, vegetables salad. For drinks we ordered hot lemongrass and cold lemongrass.
After we ate, we walked to the cashier in a different building about 25 meters away. The amount we had to pay was 198.220,- IDR or around ($12,23) including tax. The price was quite affordable. Thank you very much for stopping by.
