Hello, how are you guys? Hope you are all well. Semarang city is in the Province of Central Java and is its capital. A few days ago, I went to Semarang city by night train from Bandung city station, arrived at Tawang Semarang station at 4.20 am, with a travel time of approximately 7 hours.

Around 5 am, I left Tawang station while carrying a red backpack on my way to Semarang old town, because the distance of the old town area is not far from Tawang Semarang station.

Semarang old town has existed since the 16th Century, built during the Dutch east Indies, it served as the center of government and commerce. It's strategic location is close to the north coast of Java.
I walked along the historical corridors, with building estimated to be 200- 300 years old standing on either side of the road. Silently witnessing the history of the Dutch Colonial era. The spatial pattern in the old town adopts European architecture.

The architectural styles of the building are European and the old city of Semarang is also called little Netherlands. This unique architectural styles has become a tourist attraction. Several old buildings have been converted into minimarkets, cafes, offices.

The Semarang city government has designated the old town area as a cultural heritage site. The old town area boats several unique buildings, such as the protestan church, built around 1753. Locals call it Blenduk because of it's distintive dome shape, until now, the church is still used for worship.

In front of the church is a while building, set back from the street, with a classic design.

Another unique building is Marba, this building was build around 1904, and functioned as a company office and imported grocery store.

Semarang old town is one of the historical tourist destination d, the facilities provided include parking, seating is provided for comfort. And the historical heritage of Srigunting park completes the old city area.
