Hello, coffee friends at #Hive.
The other day I was walking through Vedado and realized I had to finish a review I'd promised to a writer friend. Luckily, I have alarms set so my procrastination doesn't get the better of me.
As it happens, my alarm went off as I was walking past the Hotel Habana Libre. I looked and saw the cafe was open and had some perfect tables for me to start writing. If I didn't do it there, I don't think I'd finish it in time. So, I got to work. Of course, I won't talk about the review, but rather about the place, which, despite being quite expensive (as are almost all hotel cafes around here), was ideal for sitting down to write.
The place was very pleasant, clean, quiet, and air-conditioned. Something I liked this time was that there was no background music, which I normally prefer to set the mood, but today I preferred the tranquility of silence.
The tables were spaced far enough apart so I could have privacy while working, but what I liked most were these ones in the photos, with these black vinyl seats, very comfortable and providing greater privacy at the table.
And I emphasize privacy because it's something I value greatly in a coffee shop. Especially if I'm going there for work. Those seats were super comfortable. Ideal for sitting for several hours, as I did. I ordered a cup of espresso to start. The service took a bit longer, but since I was busy, it didn't bother me, but I will keep it in mind for next time.
The coffee was good. Not so good for the price, but considering the location of the cafe, it's understandable. The other good thing about it is the variety and quality of the product. The cappuccino and frappuccino were also excellent.
If you add fast Wi-Fi to that, believe me, it's the perfect cafe to sit down and write or work with your laptop (for those who work remotely, of course). Between coffees, I finished the work and sent it to the author. I'll let you know what he thought soon.

El otro día paseaba por el Vedado y me encontré con que tenía que terminar una reseña prometida a un amigo escritor. La suerte es que tengo puestas alarmas para que mi procrastinación no me venza.
Da la casualidad que la alarma sonó cuando pasaba por delante del Hotel Habana Libre. Miré y vi que la cafetería estaba abierta y tenía unas mesas perfectas para ponerme a escribir. Si no lo hacía ahí, creo que no lo iba a terminar a tiempo. Por tanto, me puse manos a la obra. Por supuesto, no hablaré de la reseña, sino del lugar que, a pesar de ser bien caro (como son casi todas las cafeterías de hoteles por acá), estaba ideal para sentase a escribir.
El lugar estaba bien agradable, limpio, tranquilo y climatizado. Algo que me gustó en esta ocasión, no tenía música de fondo, cosa que normalmente prefiero para ambientar, pero hoy prefería la tranquilidad del silencio. Las mesas estaban separadas lo suficiente para que pudiera tener la privacidad del trabajo, pero lo que más me gustó fueron estas de acá en las fotos, con los asientos estos negros, de vinil, muy cómodos y que otorgaban mayor privacidad a la mesa.
Y hago énfasis en la privacidad porque es algo que valoro muchísimo en una cafetería. Sobre todo si voy hasta ella para trabajar. Esos asientos estaban super cómodos. Ideales para estar sentada por varias horas, como hice en mi caso. Pedí una taza de expreso, para comenzar. El servicio se demoró un poco, pero como estaba entretenida, no me molestó, pero sí lo tengo en cuenta para las próximas veces.
El café estaba bueno. No tanto para el precio que tenía, pero teniendo en cuenta el lugar donde se ubica la cafetería, es comprensible. Lo otro bueno a su favor es la variedad y calidad del producto. El capuchino y frapuchino también estaban excelentes.
Si a eso le sumas la wifi rápida, créanme que es una cafetería ideal para sentarse a escribir o ir con tu laptop a trabajar (aquellos que trabajen desde la computadora, por supuesto). Entre café y café terminé el trabajo y se lo envié al autor. Ya les contaré próximamente qué le pareció.
