Hello, coffee lovers of the world.
To answer this week's #TCSP, I must confess why I joined the community.
Since I was little, coffee was roasted in my house in the mornings. I remember waking up to that distinctive smell that drew me to the kitchen. There I always found my grandmother stirring a huge iron pot where the beans were roasting.
I remember later pouring the still-steaming grain onto a tray and letting it cool on the windowsill.
Once the grain was cool, my grandmother would call me and place me in front of the milling machine. Little by little, she would pour the grain into the machine while I turned the handle.
That way, I could see how the whole bean went in on one side and came out as a fine, fragrant powder on the other.
Then it was time to prepare the coffee pot and brew the coffee. For this reason, I will always love coffee more than tea or any other infusion. Coffee is part of my history and my culture.
And not just mine. Even though tea is drunk in my country, it will always be second only to coffee in any establishment. Some cafes sell tea, but so far I haven't found a single tea house. That says a lot. It says that coffee is part of the national culture, not just for me.

Hola, cafeteros de todo el mundo.
Para responder al #TCSP de esta semana, debo confesar el motivo del por qué me uní a la comunidad.
Desde pequeña, en mi casa se tostaba café por las mañanas. Desde niña recuerdo que despertaba con ese olor característico que me atraía hasta la cocina de la casa. Allí me encontraba siempre a mi abuela revolviendo una enorme olla de hierro donde el grano se tostaba.
Recuerdo después cómo regaba el grano aún humeante sobre una bandeja y los dejaba refrescar en el alféizar de la ventana.
Una vez frío el grano, mi abuela me llamaba y me colocaba frente a la máquina de moler y poco a poco, iba virtiendo el grano en la maquinita mientras yo le daba a la manigueta.
De ese modo veía cómo el grano entraba entero por un lado y salía convertido en un polvo fino y oloroso por el otro.
Luego llegaba el momento de preparar la cafetera y poner a colar el café. Por tal motivo, siempre voy a amar el café por encima del té o de otra infusión. El café es parte de mi historia y mi cultura.
Y no solo la mía. Aunque en mi país se beba té, siempre estará por detrás del café en cualquier establecimiento. En algunas cafeterías se vende té, pero hasta ahora no conozco una sola casa del té. Eso dice mucho. Dice que el café es parte de la cultura nacional, no solo para mí.
