Relocating from South East to South West put me in a state of dilemma as it was every though decision to make. Leaving one family to meet another and they're two important families. But my help was more needed in one than the other having that at the back of my mind helped me in my decision making.
It was a safe trip to the new location and they were happy seeing me. As a new resident who needed to know some important places so my help could be complete, my sister had no option than be icebreaker, so she decided to show me around in case of necessity.
On a cool beautiful morning she asked that i dress so she show me to the nearest market, she called the estate market. Just hearing the name i couldn't help but imagine how large or small the market will be as the name implies because we know what Estate look like in our country. I stepped out of the door before her heading to where i don't even with a smiling face as if i have been here for weeks while am just two days old. Arriving on a Monday and going for a look on a Wednesday.
As we walked in through the gate i asked her, "is this a market?" She said yes why do you ask, i answered, "it don't see anything that makes it look like one." She whispered to my ears saying, just wait we are to enter the market. This was the stand we got to first, what a colorful table with fresh okra, yellow pepper, palm oil and other cooking ingredients. She introduced me to the woman telling i will be coming from time to time to get items from since she won't be able to be coming out for now.
Standing just in front of the woman's shop and looking around i noticed from my left this beautiful, fresh pepper so i called it until she told me the name and from the right a roasted corn stand. The aroma of the corn wasn't strong for that reason i believe it won't be tasty, even with that insisted that we buy, so we got some but my instinct didn't do justice.
It's a yellow corn for that reason when it's cold it end up being strong. I suggest we sit down at a place to eat but she refused because the people at home can call for our attention anytime it's needed even when we're not done with what we are doing. With her insisting that we don't sit at a place to eat the corn, i decided to eat wherever we get a chance to seat in people's shop.
From the corn stand we went to patronize a customer who deal on egusi, pepper, crayfish, ogbono and many other ingredients. It was a distant from their to the shop went to buy groudnut and avocado. We didn't want to buy the groundnut but because we tasted it from a road seller and the seed was good we were still contemplating when the woman finally convinced us that it's good for nursing mother in enhancing breast milk that made us buy it.
I was thinking we were done with what we've come to do when she told we still have one more person to see. Before then i have heard a lot about her but as she always talk about her over the phone when we're on call. Little did i know it was her that we're going to see until we got to her shop.
On arrival she was shocked to see us, making use of exclamation to express herself. She deals on fabrics. She asked if it's been long we came out and we answered her yes but we're about going home we just decided to stop by and say hello. She quickly dismissed us so we can go and she told us she'll visit on the weekend, then we had to leave.
It's was really a wonderful moment walking around the estate market in a serene atmosphere. I really enjoyed my corn as i paid much attention to it, making sure i was done eating it before we left.
