Song of the Day - The Bells Sketch by James Blake

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TyzSQM5JR0 Recently, a well crafted Youtube video had me readdressing the impact of James Blake on electronic music. Now known for his contributions to rap and RnB, for those of us who have been invested in electronic music you might remember his brief but important dubstep records that came about at the point of the UK Dubstep scene being consumed by what America's growing scene. The hallmarks of his sound are all here and in a lot of ways this type of sound is preferred to what he sounds like now. The Bells Sketch is just a wild record with unnerving melodies barely held together with an understated stomp. Yeah, it's dubstep, but in it's most barely recognizable form and still without a competitor. Clearly an artist on the verge of breaking past the limitations of the genre.
