This artwork shows a young woman with long, flowing hair that seems to fall naturally around her face. Her eyes are big and round, almost as if they are holding back a secret or a story she can’t quite tell. The whole piece is made using a charcoal pencil on paper, which gives it a soft but slightly rough texture. The dark shades of the charcoal make her features stand out—especially her eyes, which are the first thing you notice. There’s no bright color here, only the deep blacks, grays, and whites that come from charcoal, but that makes the picture feel more alive in its own quiet way. You can see the strokes and smudges from the pencil, showing the hand of my work. It’s simple, but it feels real, as if she might blink or move her hair any second.
