It has been awhile since I blogged on my Aunt, my father-in-law's eldest sister. I still visit her every Saturday, to accompany her for 1 hour plus, with chit-chatting, mostly letting her share and telling me whatever stories come to her mind. Sometimes I go alone, sometimes I go with my sons and sometimes my husband tags along if he is free that Saturday. Let's pen down what she cooked for us yesterday as well as last Saturday, shall we? She insisted on cooking for us once a week, one way to get her moving and also cooking is a therapy for her, and she said she must cook since we partly supported her financially.
Last Saturday's lunch by Aunt!
Last Saturday's was special, she said. 'Coz she said I was being very good girl to buy her huge juicy prawns, and therefore she fry for us the prawns. She didn't like deep fried. Usually just pan fry the prawns, flipping both sides. Super duper delicious. This was a treat for us because I don't cook prawns at home, it is out of our budget. And when my Aunt cooked, we would be on cloud nine.

She also cooked for us stir fry vegetables consisted of french beans, and carrots with some chicken. Basic Chinese style using anchovies seasoning and of course, healthily delicious.

She then packed for us the extra so that my husband got to eat too. Last Saturday, the boys were there, making the house merrier, because they kept laughing and playing. I saw joy in my Aunt's face. She had seen them growing up, from baby till now, she felt so proud to see them grow well.

Her hospital's medicines which I helped her to order monthly had arrived, it was good that government created an app for us to order online. That saved me so much time compared to last time when I needed to go hospital monthly and queueing for hours to get her medicines. She was happily checking her medicines to ensure it was tally.

Yesterday's lunch by Aunt!
She cooked for us hearty meal, a stew chicken using fermented red bean curd, not sure whether is this Hakka dish, but she said she found the recipe on a Japanese cookbook. We called this thing 'nam yu', and usually we use it to marinade pork, rather than chicken. Turned out super appetizing and delicious.

This is how the fermented red bean curd jar looks like.

She also cooked for me stir fry slices of pork with long beans. This one she used usual Chinese condiments such as soy sauce and oyster. I super love her home-cooking dishes.

The boys were at home, because my youngest son was still coughing, so we wouldn't want to infect her.
My Aunt asked for help to buy this face serum, at the same time, she told me to at least do one or two things to love myself. Haha. She was trying to tell me she loves herself by skincare. Okay, I will do it!

That was about it, my visit to Aunt's house every Saturday. I will not blog every Saturday as it may bored the reader, as it was nothing fancy, just a casual visitation to brighten up my Aunt, but definitely hearts of love and kindness.
