Hello everyone. How are you? I’m glad that I am able to post this morning in the middle of my busy days. Anyway, it’s been so long that I’m not here and I miss this community a lot.
A little update about me last month, we were too busy because my little sister from abroad came back home. It’s been seven years we were not together. She was very busy in her business in the U.S. When she came back, we bonded a lot. I miss her very much because we were not just sisters, we were best friends. We used to be a twin sister when we were younger. Some people would assume we were twins, but when they get to know us, they’ll realize we look differently because she is faired skin and I’m not. She has a cute nose that I don’t have, but those who see us for the first time would assume we look the same. We have many similarities of gestures and postures. She only spent one week here in the Philippines so she used the 7-days to eat at the Filipino restaurants and shopped with us.
Surprisingly, she brought us to the SM Savemore, the newest mini-shopping mall in Butuan of Ampayon. It’s a sister branch of SM. My grandfather was very happy when my sister bought her a washing machine for 150$. The machine can load 7 kilograms. My grandfather lives alone in the mountains. He just pay his neighbors to wash his dirty clothes because he’s not that as energetic as he was when he was younger. Now that he has a washing machine, it will not be very hard for him to do the laundry. Our problem was, how can we load it in a car because we were more than 8 inside.
My baby loved to be at the Miniso section where there are stuffed toys and other kinds of toys. But instead of picking up the toys she would want, she opted to be taken pictures. She would say, “Mama, can you please picture me?” She always ask me to take pictures if she loves the views. She liked the views because there are many’s toys. If it is a video, she would say, “Hi guys. Today I’m at the Supermarket.” Well, I didn’t taught her those ideas. Surely she got those ideas from watching YouTube Kids. Do you limit your kids to watch at the app too just like me? I really set a time for her screen time. I wanna buy many toys she would love because instead of watching at the gadget, she is playing.
At the grocery section, my sister paid a cart of grocery supplies for our grandfather. There are no grocery stores in the mountain. It’s hard to live there the fact that it’s not a developed barangay. When we ran out of supplies, we would ride in a habal-habal. Like I said, it’s a motorcycle with wings. The crooked roads are just above the mountains. You need a talented driver to trust in order to visit the city to buy grocery items. That time, my grandpa was very happy that he will go home with a lot of cargos. Anyway, while they were taking supplies, my baby and my niece were secretly added the surprise eggs in the basket. My sister included tissues. She forgot that in a toilet, we don’t need a tissue when we poop and pee because we prefer water. The disadvantage, the cr gets wet. My sister’s living in the USA is very American.She didn’t like our CR sometimes because it’s wet when someone poop and take a bath.
After the grocery, we went at its neighbor that is Jollybee. It’s a Filipino fast food chain with the best fried chicken and gravy. The chicken is flavorful, tender, crunchy and juicy. When my niece and my daughter saw its mascot statue, they were very happy. Both kids asked me if they could have a picture with the statue. Every kid loves their food and especially their sculptured mascot.
Inside the fast-food chain, we ordered our favorite chocolate Sundae, chickenjoy with rice, fries and drinks. My sister felt heaven that she finally tasted the these pure Filipino foods. She said that there are Jollibee branches in the U.S, but some of the tastes there is slightly American. It different to be here in the Philipines if you’re homesick of the environment, the people and foods. As we ate, we didn’t recognized our relatives who were eating at the other side of the table. Surprisingly, they came next to us after they ate. They solved our problem of where to load the washing machine because they brought a car. They just dropped it down at our grandfather’s house in Sibagat.
When the night came, we had our dinner at another Pinoy fast food chain Mang Inasal. This fast food is my favorite of all, as well as my sister. They serve an unlimited rice, barbecued chicken, pansit, dinuguan, puto, Halo-halo, sisig, lumpia, pork barbecues and more. Their best seller is the barbecued Chicken with unli-rice. The chicken is juicy and delicious. I ordered a lot of rice. We were very full except my baby who doesn’t eat rice and chicken. When she saw it in the table, she reacted disgustingly. She only eats rice and fish and vegetable soup, plus milk in the bottle.
My sister MistyPearl was very full if we eat in Mang Inasal. They just not serve their delicious chicken, they also include a soup that is a perfect combo of the dry viand like a barbecue. I’m very much into soup, so every time I eat here, I always request a free soup. My family, they however doesn’t like their soup because it’s sour so they didn’t include it for themselves. Their creamy white halo-halo is my favorite too aside from their barbecued chicken. My sister (Gina from the U.S.A) said that it’s been 7 years that she waited to finally eat the barbecued chicken in Mang Inasal. She doesn’t find their branches there.
